A shot of Mom and I - we headed out as soon as I arrived, while Mom's energy was at its peak.
But I'm getting ahead of myself! Let's look at the outfit.
I wanted some green and pink, and recalled that I'd only worn this skirt once before.
It goes so perfectly with this Adidas jacket. The lush jungle print is fabulous. - Jacket - Adidas, consignment, Vancouver; last worn here in July 2025 with a pink eyelash skirt
- Iggy Pop tour shirt, 2023, not tracked
- Velour skirt - Gap, thrifted; first seen here (4th outfit) in August 2025 for dinner at Christie's
- Sequined sneakers - Converse, consignment; last worn here a couple of weeks ago with my long bomber
Although I love the jacket, I am letting it go. It's always been snug, and it just doesn't feel good on.
I wore it 10 times and only paid $34.95 for it, so I'm okay with that. I'll be looking for another in a bigger size, though! Fingers crossed, maybe one day! (or I might regret-me-not it!).

You'll see a scarf tied around my hips, but it Velvet Raged its way up around my waist and it spent the rest of the day tied to my purse.
I loved wearing this lush green velour skirt again! Winner! '

- Plastic purse - thrifted
- Silk scarf - Fluevog
- Brooch - Mom's, vintage 60s
Green bling:
Three more pieces of Mom's: both necklaces and the crystal bracelet.
- Long glass bead necklace - vintage 70s, Mom's
- Enameled bangle - Lauren B. Adams, consignment
- Crystal bracelet - vintage 60s, Mom's
- Glass necklace - vintage 50s, Mom's
- Silver/malachite ring - consignment
- Silver/aventurine ring - consignment
- Gold-tone malachite ring - consignment, lost!
- Earrings - consignment
When I got home, I realized that I did not have the gold/malachite ring on. I have no idea where I lost it. Mom, check your counters, I feel like I might have taken it off when I was making lunch?
Before I left to catch my buses, I spent some time chilling with the boys on the deck.
Barnabas, can you not keep all four legs on that stool? Whateley's gotten bold on the ledge.
He's watching a bird in the tree.
I had to take a picture of this magnificent lilac tree while I stood at the bus stop.
It smelled wonderful too! At the end of my ride.
Arriving at Mom's, I scoped out the garden.
She's got camas too! And the pink blossoms are salmon berry.

Her white lilac wasn't quite out.
It'll be lovely next week.
Mom had a couple of gifts for me.
This adorable brass/metal cat looking at itself in the mirror. It's lost one of its finials, but you wouldn't notice if I hadn't pointed it out. I gave it a scrub, as it was rather dusty. It's marked JJ, same as my golden seashell brooch.
It's Jonette Jewelry. This is from the 90s (novelty brooches were huge!).
Mom also gave me this picture of her childhood best friend, Sheila (I'm named after her, isn't that the sweetest?) and her husband Dave. Sheila was a Mary Kay lady in her spare time in the 80s and I was fully set-up with it back then - make-up, perfume, the works!
This was taken the day before Mom's big 80th birthday bash last year. Sadly, Sheila recently passed away from cancer. Aw, I wish I could have thanked her for being such a cool auntie. She was an inspiration to me in my younger years.
Mom and I headed out on the paths through the parkland near her house.
Past the camas, towards the benches in the swampy area. Do you see the robin? It's in the centre of the picture, sitting on a pole.
There was so much birdsong - I had over a dozen birds all going at once on my Merlin app.
A stand of Garry Oaks.
We sat on the benches in the distance, and enjoyed the warm (20+ degree!) day together.
A stand of Garry Oaks.
Lots of Cloud Drama.
Little lizards were scampering all over the path, and hurtling themselves into the grass.

I like this picture of Mom.
Contemplating life.
A beautiful buttercup.
I'm also fond of the dandelions! What a lovely day. I really needed that.
I love you, Mom! I also love that necklace and the bug brooch, and those cool Kate Spade shades.

I tried to make Mom laugh.
It worked! I love laughing with her.
I stopped at the WIN Boutique on Quadra on the way home - it's been forever since I popped in.
They have a new Insiders Club! Of course I joined! There is an after-hours vintage/designer sale in a couple of weeks, and I'm totally going. I had good luck, but I did go through the entire store.
Cerulean? Groundbreaking! It's a gorgeous, barely worn blue cable sweater.

It's by Talbots Petites, which I like, as it's not so long (I like shorter sweaters). Nice buttons with real buttonholes!
It was $19.95. You know that was at least $90 new.

I am a sucker for anything in the red spectrum - this is an orangey-brick red jacket.
I flipped the cuffs to show the slightly darker polyester lining. Note that it has 3 pockets on the front.
And here's two more inside...
That tag says the jacket is 100% cotton. That square on the right is a pocket corner reinforcement - what an unusual detail. Wait a minute, ANOTHER pocket on the other side? This must be a men's blazer!
We had Club Monaco stores in the malls from the 80s to the 10s - I know these were over $200 new!
This was only $14.95, a bargain.

I might let L try it on, but this is for me!
The patterns of this dress caught my eye. It needs belting - it reminds me of my big Kenzo tiger dress.
Leopard, a blue/olive tiger stripe and a mixed foliage/leopard print. It buttons to the waist and has elastic cuffs.
It also has strap-holders, so I think it originally came with an under-slip.
I will make do from my stash. It is quite see-through! It's by Marc Cain and was $19.95.
You can just see a band of mesh mid-chest. Marc Cain's stuff is pretty pricey - I'm happy with that.

I recognized the brand of these white wide-legged pants so tried them on very awkwardly in the middle of the store.
The cuffs were FILTHY, like, covered in dirt.
They're 98% cotton.
And they are indeed a twill, as it's very thick fabric. Two spare buttons!
It's organic cotton.
Certified, even! They were $34.95 and new-with-tag but the lovely staff person gave me 25% for the dirt on them.
I also had a $5 discount for joining the WIN club, plus points that I cashed in, all of which she applied to these pants, so they ended up being around $12.00. They retailed for $205.00!
This was my treasure.

I recognized it right away - and perhaps some of you readers wonder why it looks familiar? But let's take a look at this top first.
It's a V-necked optic print done in silk (very fine) and VELVET. All the black parts are velvet!
The bottom hem section is knitted wool. The sleeves are flared!
Nice wool, no snags.
The background colour is a mix between tan and a very pale green.
It's a weird colour.
Can you see the velvet? It's almost like corduroy.
90% silk and 5% wool, with 5% acrylic.
Made in Italy! That tag looks absolutely correct for...Jean Paul Gaultier Maille!
For $34.95? Take my money! These sell for HUNDREDS online.
So I sewed it up.
I reinforced a couple of other small stress points while I had the needle and thread out. Now it's perfect.

I spotted a small rip on one seam. Boo.
But I'm crafty!

And here's why you might be having deja vu! I have the matching cardigan!
My cardigan is mesh with wide mesh cuffs and it's black and white. But it's clearly the same print.
Only centered differently.
Wild! My cardigan is from the "Soleil" line.
They are both from the 90s.

Replete with my purchases, I walked home, stopping to give this pretty girl some love.
Her name is Blue! Her people were packing a car nearby.
And now, I'm leaving you for the weekend.
Enjoy Whateley on his bench. And I always take very handsome pictures of Whateley and finally managed to capture Barnabas' face.
Such a beautiful boy.

Well, there you go, my friends! Have a great weekend, and please do pop back in on Sunday for tales of adventure! Thank you for being here!
