Murder Mystery Dress and Blue Boots

I hope you're not overly disappointed that I'm not wearing one of my new-to-me treasures from PR, but I didn't have the mental energy on Monday to spend time futzing around in my closet. It will happen - you know I wear my new things right away - but not just this second.
Instead, an easy Jammy Dress!

  • Dress - Maison Scotch, consignment; last seen here in August 2024 with critter accessories
  • Boots - Original Sabado, Fluevog; last worn here in December with a sequined plaid dress (to work!)

Fondly referred to as my Murder Mystery dress, this is a really fun print - go here to look at the pictures from when I bought it in April 2022.
The pattern is 4 separate panels with mysterious portraits labeled by Atelier and location (In the Barn!), and musings like "Somewhere in Tangiers, Morocco," PLUS there are all kinds of animals and critters on it, including snakes, lobsters and oodles of birds.

Really, the only thing going for it IS the print. It's not quite full enough to swoosh, has no pockets, and it's even the dreaded "white backed" polyester.
But sometimes print wins!

It was cloudy but still warm - all I needed was a scarf and my sunnies. Incognito!
I bussed home after work, as I was laden with heavy groceries. I ran out of popcorn! The horror!

The stuff:
I have never worn this dress with my blue boots, but frequently with this belt.

  • Rohesia Belt - Fluevog; last worn here in January with lime and more blue
  • Silk scarf - Halston, vintage 70s, thrifted
  • Silver/lapis bracelet - Nepali, consignment
  • Carved cinnabar bangle - consignment
  • Lapis lazuli ring - Wendy Brandes
  • Silver/red enamel ring - consignment, Sidney
  • Metal roses earrings - Betsey Johnson, swap from Cat

Will I wear new things tomorrow? Tune in!

  2. I've always admired this dress despite its less than perfectness of no pockets (how would they hang with items in them given the material!) Truly an easy-peasy jammy dress!
A follow-up to your comment from the previous long weekend post. The way I wound up coping with my Dad's decline into Alz and dementia was to take up yoga. Yoga became a way to bolster my emotions. Maybe L's music serves a similar purpose?

    1. Side seam pockets would have been easy to add, sigh.
Yes, L's music is definitely his relaxation and creative outlet.
