Although my personal style is shifting to the more casual/sporty, I still love a good classic "office" outfit. Heels and everything! So profesh!
- Silk blazer - no label, vintage, thrifted; last worn here in August 2023 over a sheath dress (gone to Limbo)
- Top - Mantles, vintage 90s, thrifted; not tracked
- Skirt - J. Crew, thrifted; last seen here in September 2023 with black satin and different blue shoes
- Shoes - Big Presence Desmond, Fluevog; last worn here in April with black and white
And sometimes wearing something again reminds me of why it appealed to me in the first place. Oh, yeah, I like this!
Both the blazer and the skirt were waiting to be worn, I noted, looking for backward hangers in the closet - I've never worn them together. This cobalt blue blazer is that deep shade that your eyes just fall into. There is none more cobalt!
It's not an exact match for the blue in this quality J. Crew linen skirt, but it's close enough.

However, I was very pleased that this pink cami is the perfect shade to match the floral print.
Showing off the generous pockets in the skirt - I used the pockets in the blazer more.
The blazer does up with a single shell button.
I'm still boggled that I only paid $14.95 for it. It's 100% silk, made in Canada too.Incognito and hatted for the rain we had all day.
"Fantastic outfit!" shouted a construction worker as I crossed the street (I had my walking shoes on).

Accoutrements:
I have four fedoras - this is my "Agent Carter" one.
- Scarf - Alexander McQueen, consignment
- Hat - vintage, thrifted
It's always a thrill to wear a piece of Alexander McQueen.
The stuff:
I didn't do much walking in these blue beauties, but I did go up and down a stepladder a bunch of times. They were the perfect bookends to the blazer (and hat!). Obviously, I need more brooches!
Fantastic outfit indeed, Sheila! Profesh yet colourful and funky. The skirt is absolutely swoon-worthy and so is that cobalt blue blazer. Both are definitely keepers! xxx
ReplyDeleteCobalt and that salmon-y pink are an unexpected pairing and SO good together!
ReplyDeleteI second Ann's comment. Without the accessories, your outfit has a distinctly stylish but professional air, but the addition of that hat and scarf totally reflect your individuality!
ReplyDeleteAs I've commented before, I LOVE cobalt blue as a color and on you (and on me :-)) so am thrilled to see the shoes, blazer and hat together with this lovely floral skirt. The deep pink cami is an excellent topper. I kept scrolling back to your stair photo having learned that's where the color is most accurate. The rest of the photos show the cami as a peachy-melon color.
ReplyDeleteHappy August 1st!
Cheers, Laurie
I'm lazy about colour-correcting all my indoor pictures, so I try to just ensure that the Stair Pic is the most accurate (although not in winter...). Thanks, Laurie!
DeleteThat's a amazing outfit! Cobalt blue is such a attractive colour. And that skirt is fabulous! Would love to wear the hole outfit!
ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful professional office outfit, Sheila. It could literally be a poster outfit for a book titled- How to dress fabulously for work? / How to be feminine and fashion-forward but still professional? How to wear colour in the office?
ReplyDeleteI just love fun office looks and inspired professional outfits.
That cobalt blazer and heels are a match made in heaven..and the pencil skirt fits you so well!
