Cerise and a Silver Shrug

Woo, back at work after 4 days off was exhausting! Thank goodness I am immediately off on Thursday - I really can't complain too much.
The outfit was created around this new silk cherry red top, thrifted a few weeks back.

  • Shrug - Le Chateau, thrifted; last seen here in June 2021 over my Etro dress
  • Silk top - Ted Baker, thrifted; purchased here for $9.95
  • Pants - Joie, consignment; last worn here in February with grey and black
  • Sandals - Via Spiga, consignment; first seen here (3rd outfit) for L's birthday party

It's one of those "halter" necklines that were super-popular in the mid-00s. I wore this one in April 2008, and noted then that I had to do some creative "bra strapping"...and I remember why I don't like these tops!
So, much as I love the colour, I will be moving this silk blouse off to Limbo for someone else to love.

I did enjoy wearing a SHRUG again! It's been 4 years since I last wore this, and it functioned well, keeping my arms and shoulders covered from the sun. It's a soft grey knit, with silver threads woven throughout. It's probably 25 years old now!
Do you think shrugs will come back? I predict yes! Everything comes around again eventually.

Incognito, and some extra sun coverage with my YSL scarf.
Trying to look excited about going back to work.

Accoutrements and stuff:
My first wearing of these sandals out of the house, and they worked well at the office. I have yet to test them on a walk or short shop, but that will happen this summer, I'm sure.

Silvery bling:
Bits of silver to go with the light grey shrug.

  • Silk scarf - Yves Saint Laurent, vintage 70s, thrifted
  • Belt - B-Lo the Belt, thrifted
  • Crystal heart bracelet - Juicy Couture, consignment
  • Filigree bracelet - St. Paul's Cathedral gift shop
  • Silver earrings - Israeli, consignment
  • Anneke & Lars silver ring - vintage mall
  • Silver chain ring - Mexican, consignment

Back to Mom-Day tomorrow! Stay tuned!

  1. I love shrugs! Alas, only have one. Great for sun coverage and warmth in air conditioned spaces. Plus easy to stash in a bag if not needed. I’ll be interested in hearing how the sandals hold up for longer walks or, more precisely, how your feet hold up. Since heels are out for me on a daily basis sandals such as these always catch my eye. Swooning over the colors of your clothes and all the accessories. And since I’m commenting on Thursday morning, enjoy the day off! Maybe a Mom Day Adventure. :)
    Cheers, Laurie
