And Now...Cow and Yellow Sleeves

Today was "only" 24 degrees, still too hot for my liking, and it meant I can't wear a Regret-Me-Not.
I needed natural fibres, stat!

  • Cotton blouse - Zara, thrifted; last worn here in May to visit Mom
  • Cotton dress - Marimekko for Uniqlo, consignment; last seen here in July 2024 with bits of blue
  • Leather flats - Karl Lagerfeld; last worn here in June with tiers of toile

I usually do bare arms with this 100% cotton dress (this is the 5th time I've worn it), although my very first outfit incorporated a long-sleeved sweater.
What sleeves do I have that would work under this crazy cow dress that won't make me boil? The Zara blouse with the ginormous sleeves! This felt so fun.

The dress feels more voluminous than it is, and requires very little chair-wrangling.
I loved it with yellow - I've now done red, pink (twice) and blue with this dress, which is a Uniqlo/Marimekko collaboration from 2018.

Scarf Lady Incognito! This scarf has the same "stone" pattern as the dress, only in reverse - white stones on a brown background.
I know it's not cow pattern, even though I call it that.

Accoutrements and stuff:
Yellow shoes are essential in my wardrobe.

  • Silk scarf - Vera, vintage, thrifted

Orange bling:
The Jell-O Shot necklace returns! It's practically vintage now, ha ha.

  • Triangle bangle - consignment, Sidney
  • Steel/Lucite ring - Calvin Klein, thrifted
  • Plastic cuff/ring - Italian, vintage 60s, vintage mall
  • Wooden earrings - vintage, vintage expo
  • Necklace - Banana Republic, consignment

  1. What a fun outfit, Sheila, and I loved seeing your Jell-O Shot necklace again. 24°C is just about bearable for me. Anything over 25°C and I'm done for! xxx

    1. That necklace is a long-time classic, right, Ann? Same here, let's keep it down to a reasonable temperature!

  2. Deeply appreciating all of your orange bling - both the color and the shapes. I kind of, sort of, maybe am a fan of this cow dress because it is Marimekko but the shape has often flummoxed me. The pockets are just right but (at least in my style mood today ;-)) I'd like to see either the top or the bottom just a tad more fitted. On the other hand, if air flow is needed on a hot day then this is probably just the ticket!
Thinking that you might be enjoying a Mom Day Adventure today so hello Helen in advance!
    Cheers, Laurie

    1. The top is quite snug, actually (I have to wear a minimizer bra for it). I know you like a body-con, curvy or fit-and-flare shape, but I am not really feeling those lately. I would not want this dress to be more fitted, as it's a VERY thick cotton and needs to have room to move.
Waiting to see if Mom is up for it. Much like extreme cold, the extreme hot is hard on her.

    2. Understood re: the dress. Since I've already scooted ahead to your next post I know your Mom opted to stay home and indoors. Hi Helen, hoping you were able to cool off inside and relax a bit!

  3. I'm loving the cow dress on you and the Zara blouse with the flouncy sleeves looks absolutely brilliant with it! There's a proper 1960s vibe going on with the headscarf and the orange jewellery. Groovy, baby! xx
