This dress reminded me of a zebra - gee, I wonder why?
It performed admirably for all my tasks - I didn't even get it dirty!
It did cling a bit to my tights - it's not at the Cotton Rage stage, but good to know. This might live in my spring/summer wardrobe, since I already have a striped dress in my fall/winter closet - this InWear one here, which is thicker and better cut/quality.
I liked the long hem on this dress - it's got big slits on either side.

I'd originally thought of grey tights with it, then decided I needed more colour.
Are coloured tights coming back? Were they ever gone?

Who knows!
The gloves were perfect, as I knew they would be.
I walked to/from work like this, shoes and all. I prefer my outerwear to complement my outfit.
Accoutrements:
Deja scarf!
- Scarf - MetroWear, San Francisco, 2006
- Hat - gift from Tammy
- Brooch - Monet, thrifted
- Gloves - Parkhurst; purchased here for $24.95
The stuff:
Shoes I wouldn't mind getting scuffed up while doing said desk clambering. I also walked home in the rain in them.

Bold bling:
I liked the heft of the blue necklace, although it likes to twist around a bit.
- Acrylic necklace - consignment
- Studded leather cuff - c. 1997
- Leather cuff - Guess, thrifted
- Silver earrings - Israeli, consignment
- Silver/onyx ring - Tocara, vintage fair
- Lapis lazuli ring - Wendy Brandes
More bits of blue.
Elegant, vibrant and delightful! I love this outfit. So very you.

Thanks so much, Rita!
DeleteGorgeous! You can't go wrong with black and white stripes and cobalt blue. Those Fluevog boots/shoes (shoots?) are very unusual, but perfect for this time of year!
ReplyDeleteI so agree, Claire! I love that the tights show so nicely with the boots. Thank you!
DeleteFirst of all, I love how you styled this dress! Second of all, I am going to 100% copy your idea of colorful tights (or leggings if I wear boots b/c there's room for warm socks :-)) and a bold necklace to match the color of the tights. I like the black shoes but do not have any; the shoes I do have are wine colored and will have to suffice. Of course, now I am thinking it's time to find a pair of ankle height boots to keep me warmer in winter plus are soft and black as they'll go with everything.
ReplyDeleteYou have the added benefit of having an outer jacket that matches the tights!!! :-)
Cheers, Laurie
Thanks so much, Laurie! I remembered that you mentioned you had one, so was aiming to inspire you. Wine sounds lovely, and you could do wine, black or patterned/textured tights in those colours with your boots.
DeleteOf course I have a matching jacket! :D
Cool and fabulous, just like you! xxx
ReplyDeleteThanks, Vix!
DeleteLove the cobalt blue accents with the dress! Really special
ReplyDeleteAw, thank you, Julia!
DeleteNice look. Great boots. Colored tights are and will always be wonderful. (Not spelled with a "u" here.
ReplyDeleteP.S., Off-topic but I thought of you yesterday while watching a fashion documentary: not only are pockets rarer in women's clothing than men's clothing but even when they exist they're much smaller: 5 inches for women, 9 inches for men.
Thank you! Ha, however you spell it, right?
DeleteI read a recently-published book on pockets - this is true!!
This is the second cobalt outfit I have seen today (also on Ivana's blog!) - I think I need to wear some!! You look marvellous!x
ReplyDeleteIt's an awesome colour and looks good on everyone, Kezzie! Go for it!
DeleteYou look amazing in this outfit!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Cynthia!
DeleteWhat a fun maxi zebra dress! I love how you paired it with blue tights and accessories. The blue details really add something to this look, making it more unique and special!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Ivana! I would do this with pink or red tights/jewelry (or a scarf) too.
