I really liked this outfit - it still feels like me, even with the ruffles and roses!

- Silk/cotton blouse - Eddie Bauer, thrifted; last seen here in September 2025 in my Ruffled Cowboy outfit for Rifflandia

As you can see, it's clear - and not even that cold. It's almost cracking two digits!
This leather jacket has studs all the way around the hem and back of the neck, and two pockets that hold both of my phones.
That's Barnabas' head in the corner there - he's rolling around on the floor begging for tummy rubs (I always oblige).
I didn't take the jacket off but I always try to plan for it. Brrr, it's not that warm out.
Of course, we all remember that this is my Tweed Magazine cover skirt! Photoshoot here and cover here. I adore the brocade roses.Incognito. This coat was just the right weight for a sunny, cold day.
The red velour scarf makes me happy.
The red velour scarf makes me happy.
The stuff:
I liked the clash of the white/grey shoes with the outfit.
- Scarf - Echo, thrifted
- Wool gloves - Parkhurst
Matchy bling:
I pinned my Gram's brooch at the neck - that's my mom's mother, who was very much present in my younger life (she died when I was 30). - Belt - B-Lo the Belt, thrifted
- Rose earrings - Betsey Johnson, swap from Cat
- Brooch - Pastelli, vintage 60s, Grandma S's
- Silver snake ring - BC Museum gift shop, 1986
- Silver/obsidian ring - consignment
- Silver/red jasper ring - thrifted
- Anneke & Lars ring - vintage mall
- Silver S cuff - Mexican, consignment, Sidney
- Leather/steel cuff - Rimanchik
Barnabas held still for once.
Mom update: She's doing well, and we're adjusting her homecare to be for her peak need hours (morning and evening). She's very thankful to all of you for your kind comments!
I recognized your skirt immediately! I am not a ruffles fan (at least not for me, they’re fine for others ;)) but am a fan for this outfit. The blouse goes so perfectly with the skirt, as if from the same fashion era. Then the jacket and shoes come along and shake things up a bit. I’m appreciating the whole combo. Barnabas would be the perfect topper for neck wear. ;)
ReplyDeleteHi Helen! I’m imagining your garden is inching it’s way to Spring like your bones inching their way to healing, slowly, steadily and strongly. :-)
Cheers, Laurie
It's rather memorable! I'm also not really into ruffles, but these ones are very rock & roll, which I like! Ha, yes, Barnabas would love to be a scarf, only I'd have to carry him.
DeleteI'll be visiting Mom on Thursday and will take some pictures of her and her garden! I bet it's looking good!
Good to know your Mom's home care has been adjusted to her needs. Always good to have "free time" between carer stuff! Hang in there, Helen!
ReplyDeleteThat blouse was made to go with the skirt, I love the whole outfit. The jacket is just right and the belt and shoes tie in perfectly. 👍
Glad to read about Mom doing well, sending lots of hugs!.
ReplyDeleteAnd that brocade roses are Fab!, looking really stylish and cool in ruffles shirt and leather jacket, so lovely outfit!, and lovely coat too!
