Orange and Mustard

I enjoyed the weird colour combination in today's outfit.
I don't think I would do orange and mustard together if it weren't for this skirt.

  • Silk blazer - Alfred Sung, vintage 80s, thrifted; last worn here on Christmas Day December 2025 with black velvet and copper
  • Sparkly sweater - Dusia Knits for Gibson's, vintage 70s, thrifted; last seen here (2nd outfit) in December 2025 for a copper backdrop
  • Skirt - Soaked in Luxury; last worn here in December 2025 for a Mom-Day at Gorge Park (same necklace, boots, coat and scarf!)
  • Boots - Official Mittwoch, Fluevog; last seen here in December 2025 on that Mom-Day adventure
  • Leather trenchcoat - vintage 70s, thrifted; last worn here in February

I paired it with my sparkly disco sweater.
"And a black kitty!"

The best accessory of all!

I woke up with a sore hip, so needed ultra-comfortable shoes.
I added this silk vintage mustard blazer for a more profesh office look, but I've decided it's time for it to leave my closet. Mustard yellow just does not inspire me like it used to.

Incognito.
Spring is coming! It was slightly warmer and we had beautiful blue skies.

The stuff:
I adore these boots - I need to wear them more.

  • Silk scarf - Jay Sutton, vintage 70s, thrifted
  • Suede gloves - Dots

Brass bling:
These pieces all make me feel happy.

  • Bone/brass/wood necklace - consignment
  • Brass/leather cuff - vintage 70s, Mom's
  • Brass cuff - Midzo, vintage expo
  • Brass/wood earrings - LA Express, c. 1994
  • Brass rings - vintage mall

The kittens were up to mischief on the weekend. and there was much galloping about.
A tantalizing tail for chasing.

Leading to some wrestling.
Play nice!

From the floor, they bounded to the top of the scratching post.
Barnabas is not surrendering the top. He looks very fearsome!

Whateley's left is a blur!
Don't worry, ten minutes later, they were snuggled up together!

My friends, I'll be back on Wednesday with a Two-Fer, as L and I have a show to go to tomorrow. Stay chill!

  1. The power of a good print - those colours do look fab together.

I once heard it said that 'the best toy for a kitten is another kitten', and your two certainly prove that.

  2. The overall look reminds me of my favourite bird the Northern Flicker. They’re gorgeous birds, so definitely intended as a compliment.

  3. Yay for light-weight pleats. Coupled with the colors the skirt makes me think equally of spring or fall. I especially like your necklace, both cuffs and your earrings!
Thank you for the front row seat to 'kitty opera' courtesy Barnabas and Whateley productions. ;-) As this is being typed on Tuesday, enjoy the show tonight! Looking forward to hearing about it tomorrow. :-)

  4. Just a thought, you could be off mustard because of your hair colour. When my hair is a cool toned silver I dislike mustard items yet when I colour with a temporary warmer shade I like it again.

    1. A good thought, Lise, but I've had purple hair off and on for close to a decade. Brighter, more saturated colours are appealing to me more. I usually don't factor in my hair when I make outfits or buy clothes.

  5. I like the blazer so I'm sorry this is goodbye to it! The outfit is a really nice combination. I like the patterned skirt and boots contrasted with the black.
Oh the kitties are such fun!

  6. That outfit works fabulously because of the necklace, which just ties it all together!

  7. Now that you mention its impending absence, I looked critically at the outfit, and decided that I actually like it better without the mustard jacket (even though I still love the color).
The jacket seemed to give the look a weighty pull downward, making the outfit seem slouchily exhausted. Without the jacket, you exude Wonder Woman, ready to take on anything and come out on top! ReaderRita

    1. Plus, all mustards are not equal. Perhaps a more zingy one may still be to your liking! RR

  8. So fab colour combo, that skirt is so beautiful and I love how you styled it!, particularly fabulous boots and magnificent bijouterie!. That jacket is a lovely piece, but not so lovely if you don't feel anymore 'muted' mustard. I'm also gravitating towards brighter colours, which I feel more vitaminic!
I have a weakness for that skirt&boots combo!. And kitties!
    besos
