Neoprene and Leather

Ah, Monday again. I'm just working through the backwards hangers and looking for outfits that feel "me."
This neoprene skirt is printed with roses and is super-comfy to wear.

  • Sheer top - Suzy Shier, thrifted; last seen here in November 2025 layered under mohair
  • Leather-front top - Danier Leather, thrifted; last worn here in November 2025 with velour and fuzzy leopard
  • Neoprene skirt - Richard Quinn X Debenhams, consignment; last seen here in February 2025 for Valentine's Day in a "tough love" outfit
  • Shoes - Pina Vogettes, Fluevog; last worn here in November 2025 with Westwood
  • Leather coat (below) - Danier Leather; last seen here in December 2025

Despite this leather-front t-shirt being a wardrobe stalwart, I've never worn it with this skirt before.
The skirt hits the 5-year mark - I've worn it 9 times.

Back detail.
This was a good Monday outfit. The office was quiet, although I had a couple of meetings.

The temps remain in the low double-digits, and spitty rain prevails.
I fully tucked my hair into my beret for the walk each way to keep it dry.

The stuff:
I need to re-stitch some of the stones on the front of the gloves - an easy repair.

  • Wool beret - thrifted
  • Heart pin - consignment
  • Fur scarf - thrifted
  • Leather gloves - Dots

Pointy bling:
A favourite grouping.

  • Necklace - Stella & Dot, thrifted
  • Leather/chain bracelet - Jenny Bird, consignment
  • Gold/Lucite bracelet/earrings - Alexis Bittar, consignment, gift from L
  • Silver/obsidian ring - consignment
  • Silver chain ring - Mexican, consignment
  • Silver/crystal ring - Soul Flower

  1. A very attractive Monday outfit, and that skirt has a lovely split at the back.

  2. Love that top/skirt combo, and I imagine that the textural contrast pops even more in person!

    1. Thanks, Julia! The fabric portion of the top is similar to a very thin neoprene, so they work well together.

  3. You've got me wanting to wear red this morning, you look fab. The skirt doesn't look like neoprene, more like satin, but far more practical in the rain! x

    1. It's such a powerful colour, thanks, Vix! Definitely more practical than satin! No wrinkles either!

  4. Neoprene and leather seem like an excellent combo because of their material qualities. I love the pattern of the skirt! And I've set myself a goal of mastering your method for avoiding wet hair in rain when not wearing a hooded raincoat. The trick is to have a water repellent cap into which all the hair can be tucked!

    1. I like the thickness of neoprene (this is about half the thickness of scuba suits) and the suppleness of leather.
Wool berets are excellent for this! They are water repellant, can be shoved in a pocket and dry out fast. And I often see them for $10 and less in the thrift stores.
      Thanks so much, Laurie!

    1. Thank you, Ivana! I also like this length of skirt - not too short, not dowdy.
