Monday Green Pleats and Gone Black

This is a short week for me, so I spent some time on Sunday pre-planning all of my work outfits.
I layered this new-to-me blouse under the other pleated dress (I also have it in a light grey/blue/black mix, here).

  • Blouse - April Cornell, thrifted; purchased here for $14.96
  • Dress - Uniqlo X Claire Waight Keller, thrifted; last seen here in June 2025 with orange bits
  • Boots - 7th Heaven Mega Racer, Fluevog; last worn here with snuggly plaid in November 2025
  • Coat - C&A Golden Gate Collection, vintage 80s, thrifted; last seen here a couple of weeks ago

I didn't like the blouse AT ALL. It didn't feel good on my skin, so off it goes to Limbo for its next home.
That's okay, I have plenty of other thin black tops (and other colours) that I can layer under this dress.

Showing the cool version of my outfit.
Not that I ever walk around like this!

This is how most people saw me. I hope you can see the big faux fur collar!
The pleats bloomed and swooshed as I walked. Brr, it was cold out - but it's clear and dry so I'll take it!

The stuff:
Ugh, bad lighting today, sorry. The boots are British Racing Green.

  • Scarf - Vera, vintage 80s, Mom's
  • Gloves - thrifted

Snake bling:
I'm going through my things with a critical eye.

  • Snake coil cuff - Whiting & Davis. vintage 70s, vintage fair
  • Snake bracelet - vintage 90s, consignment
  • Snake ring - consignment
  • Amber ring - c. 1995
  • Earrings - thrifted
  • Snake necklace - vintage 90s, vintage expo

Barnabas helped me in the bathroom.
"I'm watching!"

Such big eyes!

I caught Whateley sleeping in the round bed again!
"Not for long, if you keep bothering me."

  1. I have a history of liking this dress and it’s twin. :) It drapes just right with a just right swish factor and can be worn with any number of colored tops underneath. Truly a delightful (two) piece(s)! The amber ring is talking to me this morning. Each time I see the ring it makes me think of topaz, and I once (as a child/young teen) had a rectangle topaz stone in a gold setting. Memory gets triggered by clothing and accessories! (Maybe similar to the effect of food and smells?)
I think Barnabas is trying to find his gargoyle pose!

    1. It's a great cut of a dress, and so good for layering. I don't think that ring is actually amber (more amber-coloured, if you know what I mean). It's probably cheap glass - I bought it for $5 way back in the 90s, and it's very worn. Oh, that topaz ring sounds amazing. Yes, jewelry is often a touchpoint for people - it can take us right back to childhood!
Ha, I love that! Yes, he's emulating the bathroom gargoyle!

  2. Shame about the top. Not gonna lie, I took one look at it and thought, "Itchy!". The dress is lovely though! I CAN see your big fur collar- floofy! Barnabas is so handsome! Was he pretending to ne the Gargoyle? He's too cute for that!
    I like your hissy jewellery!!x
