When you have a belt that's very distinctive, you've got to start there.
- Wool/blend jacket - Sassoon, vintage 70s, thrifted; first worn here in February 2025 for a murderous Mom-Day
- Blouse - L'Wren Scott, "A Tropical Conversation," FW 2011, thrifted; last seen here (3rd outfit) in February 2025 under my Kenzo tiger dress
- Wool-blend tweed trousers - PartTwo, thrifted; last worn here in October 2025 with a corduroy duster/dress
- Boots - Powerhouse Jyoti, Fluevog; last seen here in December 2025 with an artsy cardi
- Coat (below) - L'Atiste, consignment, Vancouver; last worn here in December 2025
This rblouse hadn't been worn yet this season, and ooh, I like how all the red bits come out of it at the neck and sleeves! I put my bracelets over the extra-long cuffs.
The trousers feel like a cheat - they're elastic waist with big pockets. The pattern is herringbone.
The kittens help me quite a lot in the morning...

The stuff:
I took the gloves off on the way home, even though it was raining.

- Silk scarf - fake Louis (Lewis!) Vuitton, thrifted
- Velour gloves - Thinsulate, thrifted
Space bling:
As usual, running with my outer space/sci-fi theme.
- Star Wars seat belt...belt - Buckle-Down, thrifted; gift from L (purchased by me for ~$15.00? can't remember)
- Star Trek communicator badge - MoPop gift shop, Seattle
- Star pin - consignment
- Lucite/silver bracelet - Alexis Bittar, consignment, Vancouver

- Silver "wings" ring - consignment
- Silver/crystal ring - Soul Flower
- Pearl/crystal ear-ball - Swarovski, gift from L (I lost the other pearl)
- Silver chain/circle earring - consignment
Here are a few pictures of the belt.
Storm troopers! The Star Wars logo depresses and unlocks the seat-belt clasp. Just like a seat belt. Hey, that's why belts are adjustable.
Girls can be Darth too! Darth Sheila!
And now, the two little furry boys return.
"I'm sleeping..."
Sounds wonderful! Hey, get out of there, buddy.
Yes, he is!

The two furry boys are too precious!
ReplyDeleteI like how you built your outfit around that unique belt. Your collection of Star Wars accessories. The grey wide trousers are wonderful. The black and white checkered coat is fantastic. I love the ♥️ red beret and boots. Amazing styling!
Aren't they lovely? I can't get enough of them!
DeleteThanks, Ivana! Star Wars and Star Trek - they get mixed in my wardrobe!
I hadn’t thought of it before this post but what you are calling the silver “wings” ring looks to me like two large alien eyes on a much smaller face! Definitely straight out of Star Wars.
ReplyDeleteCheat way with the trousers…to have relaxed waistline drawstring pants that look comfortable and classy and not like typical drawstring pants is definitely a win! And of course the bookend are red, yay!
I think it’s time for your Mom and you to have an outing chez Barnabas and Whateley! (I’m looking for vicarious kitty play time. 🐱🐈⬛😻)
Cheers, Laurie
Oh, there you go! Alien ring! I love that, Laurie!
DeleteI know, right? Elastic waist all the way!
I mentioned this to Mom - the cold weather is hard on her, but I know she loves seeing them...
Another great jacket/blazer! I have become such a blazer hound, and you have some doozies! When thrifting, that’s my first stop: the blazer aisle! (But now the thrift stores around here are charging straight-up retail prices for them, so I’m not finding many. WTH, “thrift” stores?)
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I love this outfit, and what a centerpiece! Faaaabulous belt.
Plus, the adorable fuzzboys! One of my cats shared Whateley’s obsession with the shower. I’d find her in there, dreamily licking the droplets off the shower curtain, despite having a lovely water fountain and bowl of still water reserved just for her. Nope. She preferred “found water”.*sigh*

I am a sucker for a good blazer too, Rita! That's ridiculous that the thrift prices have gotten that high in your area - but have you looked at retail prices lately? I was shocked at how expensive everything has gotten.
DeleteThank you! I love the belt, so fun.
Water cats! So funny! Whateley was at the sink again this morning.
That's a lovely outfit, business like but feminine, too. I love the idea of a seatbelt buckle on a belt! I think I would think I was in a plane, if I was sitting down! I would be waiting for a disgusting tiny tray of food that I could eat with elbows crammed by my sides!
ReplyDeleteThat was the goal! I like the friction of masculine/feminine in my outfits. Isn't the belt fun? I would have liked it purely for the Star Wars side, but the fact that it's a seat belt really charms me. Ha, but sounds like you have some flying PTSD!
DeleteI love that you created an outfit around that belt!
ReplyDeleteYou trousers are such a great fit but those precious boys are stealing all the attention! xxx
Sometimes the best outfits come from the smallest accessories!
DeleteI know, they are so photogenic and cute! I take so many pictures of them...
So fab that you created an outfit around your belt, great idea. Sometimes I pick my shoes first or create an outfit around a piece, but accessories are way more inspiring!
ReplyDeleteLove the retro-futuristic vibe, you rock it!
besos
It pushes me creatively when I build an outfit around one small thing. It also helps when that accessory is unusual or traditionally tricky to style.
DeleteThank you! I love this vibe!
