Spooky Blouse, Missing Part and Kittens

More spooky stuff! That's what makes me happy.
Back to the office after a wonderful long weekend.

  • Blouse - Divided by H&M, thrifted; last seen here in October 2024 with black faux leather trousers
  • Leather skirt - Antels, vintage 80s, consignment; purchased here for $42.00
  • Shoes - Big Presence Desmond, Fluevog, consignment; last worn here in September with sheer layers
  • Satin leopard coat (below) - Cache, consignment; last seen here in April

First wearing of this black leather skirt, and as I reviewed the pictures, I realized I had not shown its best feature - the giant front slit!
You can just see the opening of it on the right hem - when I walk, it opens up to just over the knee which keeps it from looking like a big black block of a skirt.

Must remember next time to do the full "Angelina Jolie" and awkwardly stick my leg out. The slit is is an essential part!
The blouse is an October favourite, as it has snakes, skulls, deaths-head moths and some sort of skeleton.

Incognito and feeling rather leopard-y!
Orange accessories to go with the orange in the blouse (I also had bits of amber on).

I remembered!
Knowing it has a red lining makes this coat so much better.

The stuff:
Snake-print, and an anatomical heart.
  • Fur scarf - Danier, thrifted
  • Leather gloves - consignment
  • Leather heart pin - Smoking Lily

Gold bling:
The return of the ant amber brooch!

  • Gold shark jaw cuff - Tom Binns, 2012, consignment
  • Carved cinnabar bangle - consignment
  • Gold/amber ant brooch - Russian, consignment
  • Silver/amber thumb ring - consignment
  • Brass ring - vintage 70s, vintage mall
  • Stone ring - thrifted
  • Brass/jade ring - vintage 70s, Mom's
  • Bronze ring - P. Sarpaneva, vintage expo
  • Gold/crystal earrings - Plum, c. 2011
  • Fish necklace - Roberto for RFM, consignment

The kittens lurked around while I did pictures in the morning. .

Hey, Whateley, want to be in a picture?
"A what?"

We stand still and listen to the beep, and when it speeds up, you look at the black thing over there on the desk. Click!
"That thing there?"

Exactly! Good job, buddy!

I tried one with Mister Cuddles aka Barnabas, but he moved around too much. No time for retakes!

This is from the weekend, when we discovered that both Whateley and Barnabas play fetch with the yellow squishy balls.
"Take it to the Man, he'll throw it again!"

It was hilarious watching Barnabas carry the ball around in his mouth.

All tuckered out. L took this one.
I just want to wake 'em up and pet them and love them and....

Full of mischief in the morning.
"Get her toes."       "I'm on it."

They've taken to launching themselves onto the bed and attacking my feet when I'm sleeping. It's startling!

During a game of Ark Nova, Whateley settled down in the lid.
"So this is a box..."

We may have a Box Cat on our hands.

And finally, L and I watching a movie.
"I found the best spot!"

Aw, Barnabas is flopped on his back, all stretchy. So cute!

    1. I got a good shot of Kes this morning while I was doing my stair pic - will include it tomorrow.
The kittens are SO lovely. Wait till you see Barnabas doing a full on his back stretch on me last night. THE CUTE is overwhelming.

  2. I can't believe that blouse is H&M ... how fabulous it is! As is your black leather skirt, even if you denied us the pleasure of showing that giant front slit :-)
I'm swooning over your leopard coat, and I've got your orange scarf's moss green sister.
You'll make a perfect model of Whateley yet! Love that photo of him in the box - our Phoebe was a box cat, but Bess isn't - and the one of Barnabas playing with the yellow ball! I can't get over how cute and cuddly they both are! xxx

    1. I think Divided is a slightly swankier version of H&M? I'll remember the slit next time, I promise!
I love a warm furry scarf, and that coat is so gorgeous.
Whateley is such a handsome cat - he has perfect markings. We haven't had a box cat since Inigo, who would contort his largeness into the tiniest box! I know, they are SO cute! Thanks so much, Ann!

How snazzy is the lining in your leopard coat? xxx

    1. It's like they've been with us for years, Vix - they are so settled. Don't worry, many more pictures coming!
      Right? Red lining always wins!

  4. Attacking toes while you are asleep? I see their true natures are coming out now that they are comfortable with you! Be prepared for claws gently investigating nostrils in the early hours of the morning!

    1. Yes, they are mischievous little monkeys! "Bed mice" are attached regularly, especially by Barnabas. No interest in nostrils (that was a Vizzini thing, though, when he was a kitten), phew!

  5. So I think that you and L believe YOU two adopted THEM. However, given how easily, contentedly and cozily Whateley and Barnabas have settled in, it is quite possible that THEY chose YOU and you two fell hook, line and sinker for their sweet faces and calm yet frisky demeanors. ;-) Whateley, aka Box Cat, and Barnabas, aka Blanket Cat, may have hijacked your blog. ;-)
We return to your regularly scheduled fashion blog tomorrow!
Cheers (from Brussels, where we arrived this morning!), Laurie

    2. I love the kitten smell of their little fuzzy heads (and tums!). They both love tummy rubs! It's not just you, Rita! :-D

  7. It has been decades since I had a kitten. It's so strange we've had dogs because I'm really a cat person! Your little ones seem to be quite happy! I think, if I ever got another pet, I would definitely do two rather than just one. They need a friend, right?

    1. It's the first time we've had two kittens together - we've always had a kitten, then adopted another a couple years later. Our cats who've been solo have always been happy.
