Ruffled Slides, Massive Sleeves and Mom's Stuff

Hey, my friends, welcome back! Monday's here and oof, I did not want to go to work today. Another weekend, please!
I slapped this outfit together last night, and it was...good enough!

  • Hemp top - Sure 1032, thrifted; last seen here in August 2024 for a Mom-Day shopping at Uptown
  • Skirt - Twik, consignment; purchased here for $40.00
  • Leather shoes - Ateliers, thrifted; purchased here for $22.95 (less my Seniors' discount!)
  • Nylon jacket (below) - Adidas X Stella McCartney, consignment, Vancouver; last seen here in May on a Mom-Day at home

The skirt debuts, love the colour. Am going to move it to my fall/winter closet, though, as it's too short for my tastes these days (and I had shorts on).
I paired it with my regular black summer blouse.

Which is kind of just a big blob here.
I think the skirt needed a more fitted top, like a tee or a sweater.

The blouse is very full, and has massive sleeves, and it threw the proportions off a bit.
See?

The blouse wants a long slim bottom.
And the skirt wants a fitted top. Live and learn!

Incognito in daisies.
I liked how this bomber jacket worked with the skirt - would do this with tights and boots.

The stuff:
But I couldn't wait - I wanted to wear these shoes! They were good, but rubbed a little bit on one toe by the end of the day. And I actually struggled to style them - they aren't right for my vibe right now, so I'm going to put them in Limbo.

  • Chain belt - vintage 70s, Mom's

Green and gold bling:
I also wore these new earrings for the first time - and LOVED them. So light!

  • Gold bangle - thrifted
  • Glass bangle - thrifted
  • Earrings - thrifted; purchased here for $7.95
  • Coral/olivine ring - Hawaii, 1976, Mom's
  • Sparkly cocktail ring - vintage 70s, Mom's
  • Green glass bead necklace - vintage 70s, Mom's
  • Gold chain necklace - Monet, thrifted

When in doubt, wear Mom's stuff! Four pieces in one outfit!

  1. I always think of you when I see chartreuse! Loving the sleeves of the top and your Mum's fabulous jewellery. The Stella bomber is a n inspired near-match with the shoes but if they urt they've gotta go! xxx

    1. It's kind of my signature colour, isn't it? Thank you, Vix! Yeah, the shoes are just not my style - it's more that than the toe-rubbing (which I could live with, toughen those toes up!).

  2. Smiling because my favorite part of this ensemble is your jewelry. :-) Yay for green, glass and gold! I agree 100% with your assessment of the outfit proportions and a better type of partner piece for the top and skirt – fitted on the bottom and fitted on the top, respectively. The bomber jacket looks great with the shoes but I understand why it’s ‘off to limbo’ for the shoes - only one set of feet but many possibilities for comfortable shoes, so why keep a pair that doesn’t provide comfort!
