People come...people go. I don't get too wrought up about it anymore.
- Top - Trina Turk, consignment; purchased here for $40.00
- Skirt - J. Crew, thrifted; last worn here in August 2024 with chartreuse bookends (sold that blouse; the shoes are too high and are in Limbo)
- Shoes - Vogettes Misty, Fluevog; first seen here in April with chartreuse, dots and grey
- Jean jacket (below) - G-Star Raw, consignment, Powell River; last worn here a week ago
Today's outfit was built around this picnic plaid skirt. I hear gingham is trendy with the Cool Kids these days.
No need to buy something new - I just raided my closet.
The top was good, but I glooped soup down the front of it immediately. Sigh. Good thing it's washable.
I bookended with neon orange and copper instead of exact matches. Eh, close enough! Incognito. I was very glad of the denim jacket on the way home.
So much for "early summer" - it's back to being chilly, and the skies are hazy from wildfires and forest fires. It's that time of the year.

The stuff:
These shoes pinched and rubbed in all kinds of spots. WTF!? I had to bandaid, and did a bit of strategic slicing with my X-acto blade (of course, I have one in my desk at work, doesn't everyone?). They're better...but seriously, you'd better get your act together, shoes!

Copper bling:
I thought the white enamel and copper worked well with this.

Awww! Viz always sounded like a lovely chap when you've mentioned him.
ReplyDeleteI love the outline or this outfit and the orange really pops out from my screen. The copper accessories couldn't be more perfect but boo to rubbing shoes! xxx
He is! I'm going to miss him! The orange was SO bright in person! I know, I was VERY mad at the shoes!
DeleteWe're twinning in our gingham in our blog posts this week, Shiela. I didn't know we were the cool kids!! X
ReplyDeleteWe're the coolest of the cool, Jess, since we didn't even know it was trendy. We're ahead of the curve. :)
DeleteI second the comment by Vix about Viz plus he always seemed to have a comment for your outfits. Might be mixing up your colleagues but I think you gave him a jacket and included a photo on your blog. Hope he left for a business that interested him even more.
ReplyDeleteI'm a fan of all your copper jewelry. Chuckling as the white stones in the necklace remind me of bird's eggs probably because I cleaned out a wren bird house this morning, all before it became unbearably hot with horrible air quality. Ugh. It's better now as the evening comes.
The orange top has me smiling for its vivacious color, loose flowing fit and lack of sleeves, perfect for hot weather. Given the weather we had today, tops with those characteristics quite appeal!
Cheers, Laurie
I know, I will miss his observations and comments! I did give him my D&G men's jacket, and I told him to remember me whenever he wears it. He's staying with our company - we have offices worldwide.
DeleteThank you! Those are not stones - they are actually globs of enamel! I hope the air quality clears up - I'm assuming forest fires?
It's such a fun colour, and it was lovely to wear, thank you, Laurie!
Your copper bling and shoes do make this outfit, Sheila. What a shame that the latter weren't kind to your feet, though! xxx
ReplyDeleteThank you, Ann! Those shoes had better behave on the next wearing or I'll be chucking them into Limbo!
