Butterflies, Tiger-Stripe and Pops of Orange

This is a weird week, as we have the Canada Day holiday right in the middle of it.
It's also Pride season in our office, so I'm wearing loads of colour all week.

  • Cotton blazer - Escada by Margaretha Ley, vintage 80s, thrifted, Powell River; last worn here (2nd outfit) in June 2025 for brunch and a wee shop
  • Cotton tank top - FDJ French Dressing, thrifted; purchased here on the weekend for $8.95
  • Linen lined trousers - Nine West, thrifted; last seen here in May with a neon fin top
  • Shoes - Groovy Aubrey, Fluevog; last worn here (2nd outfit) with my orange/pink weekend brunch and Winesday outfit

I always look forward to wearing this amazing blazer.
Tiger stripe AND butterflies? And roses? Be still, my heart!

Speaking of tigers, our little white tiger was lurking around while I did my pictures.
I'm wearing my new cotton tank top with the sparkly snaps that I thrifted over the weekend - it was excellent!

Incognito.
The white trousers are a linen blend and I always swoon over the full-length lining. Whateley looks impressed.

The stuff:
Another butterfly!

  • Silk scarf - vintage, consignment
  • Eelskin belt - Yves Saint Laurent, vintage 80s, thrifted

Buggy bling:
The pops of orange work well with the bold colours.

  • Moth brooch - vintage fair
  • Bee brooch - consignment
  • Bee pin - gift from Megan Mae
  • Bangle - consignment, Sidney
  • Steel/Lucite ring - Calvin Klein, thrifted
  • Plastic ring - Italian, vintage 60s, vintage mall
  • Rose earrings - Betsey Johnson, swap from Cat
  • Gold-tone bracelet - thrifted, Sidney

I clustered the bug brooches all over the jacket. If you missed them, here they are.
My coworker Emma was very impressed with the placement. Most of us only do the boring "grandma" spot on the chest, but there is so much you can do with brooches and pins.

L upgraded our stereo receiver this past weekend, so not only do we now have proper surround sound again but we now have another...

CAT TOY!
The boys were leery at first.

Not sure if they were allowed to play in the box.
Whateley staked his claim, but Barnabas has been biting the edges, marking them.

I caught Whateley in a yawn.
"No...pictur---YAWN!"
Looks like a good one!

  1. Smiled WIDE at Whateley's yawn! I totally missed finding your pins so thank you for the arrows. For the few times I've worn pins I've been guilty of pinning the 'grandma' spot. ;-)
That butterfly scarf is Fabulous, such a big beautiful print!
And I'm right there with you in appreciating each piece of clothing in this outfit. Ahhh :-)
Stay cool! We are on the first day of a climbing higher heat wave. The air conditioning has been officially turned on as of 10 am this morning! Cheers, Laurie

    1. Isn't he a character, Laurie? I know, I am also guilty of the "grandma" brooch placement, but I'm working to change it up more.
I adore that scarf - it was around $16 I think, several years ago.
Thank you so much! Ugh, I hope that heat moves on soon! It's cloudy, overcast and around 65 degrees here - almost chilly!

  2. That's a fabulous jacket, the whole outfit sings! I so love those photos of the cats with the box, especially Whateley with his yawns.

  3. Hahaha-Whateley!!! “Oh, another box. What a snooze…” (but we know he loves them)
That blazer is spectacular! Every time you post its wearing, it brightens the day. Brooch placement is inspired, also!

    1. Isn't he hilarious! Yes, they love a box. I've already cut a little window in it for them to bat at each other.
      Thank you, Rita!
