I discovered that this new jacket - just purchased! - was covered in snags when I went to put it on in the morning. What the heck?
- Jacket - FDJ; purchased here at Dots on the weekend for $31.99
- Paillette vest - Nygard, thrifted; last worn here in December 2024 with my Tweed cover skirt
- Blouse - COS, thrifted; last seen here in June with lace-print jeans
- Tulle skirt - Adidas, consignment; last worn here (2nd outfit) in May on Halston Ultrasuede Dress Day 6
- Floofy underskirt - Luc Fontaine, thrifted; last seen here under my houndstooth Kate Spade skirt earlier this month
- Sandals - Aerosoles, consignment; first worn here in July with white jeans for a trip to the periodontist
- Coat (below) - L'Atiste, consignment, Vancouver; last seen here a couple of weeks ago
Turns out, the kittens have discovered "climbing" my clothes. Nothing was unsalvageable, so I just snipped all the loops off and pulled it back into shape. Sigh. I can't leave things out!
I knew that I'd be wearing this blazer with my Weird Adidas tulle skirt. Easy choice.
You'll notice that my tights have something down the back.
Not just a seam, Calvin Klein! The tights are black with light grey inside - they look very grey here, but they are black.
Back to the outfit - I wore the jacket off and on throughout the day. The back of this sparkly disco pailletted knit top is plain black, so I don't like it exposed that much.
Outerwear. L had to put my coat away last night as he found two little kittens CLIMBING it.
Oh, my boys, you are very naughty!

Oh yes kittens and clothes .. my boy is currently in button chewing mode. Fortunately most of my clothes are second hand so whatever. :). Rgds Lise

DeleteI love the CK tights. Gorgeous outfit altogether. The pattern coat is gorgeous and ties everything together nicely. I spend time with a cat that is a climber, and sometimes it gets in the way of fashion, but I still love him so much.

Oh my goodness! I'm so glad Bess's kittenhood was a thing of the past when we adopted her. Apart from a couple of blankets and throws, and a nearly expired pair of curtains, she never snagged anything. I'm glad you were able to salvage that jacket and that L. found them climbing your coat so that he could put it out of harm's way!

My grandmother, a talented seamstress, taught me a snag remedy. Grab one of those “needle threaders” (thin circular aluminum pieces with a looped, folded steel wire inserted) that used to be in every sewing kit, and from the back side of the garment, push the wire loop of the threader thru the cloth closest to the snag. Feed the thread of the snag thru the loop of the threader on the right side of the garment, and then pull the loop and snag thru to the wrong side of the fabric. Presto. Like a big, slow sewing machine, haha. Thank you grandma, for teaching me useful things! ReaderRita

DeleteRita, that is an awesome tip! The coat is fine, but the blazer is lined, so I can't get at the back of the fabric. I just snipped the snags off (fine on a weave). Embroidery is a good skill!

Typing this comment on Thursday the 27th and believe that you are home today enjoying Thanksgiving football in the States! We head to Fred’s oldest brother’s & his spouse for a gathering with their daughter, Fred's sister & her spouse and their son. Planning on taking some walking thanks to sunshine (and wind!) and what will likely be needed breaks between food!

What a shame of such a good jacket. I once lived in a damp house when I first moved to Amsterdam. To avoid my shoes and boots becoming moldy, I left them in the open (corridor). One morning I swung my feet out of my car and saw the that the nose of one of my boots had several holes in it. Teeth marks. It was a good thing I wasn't home.
