Mossy Tweed, Swoosh and Amber

Monday, my old foe! I had two very long meetings today, and was glad I'd worn lots of mossy-coloured armour.
First wearing of this swooshy skirt, and I'm not keeping it. I have other better quality skirts in this EXACT colour.

  • Wool/silk blazer - Julie Haus, Fall 2011 RTW Collection, thrifted; last seen here in March with my yellow Docs
  • Cashmere sweater - Prada, consignment; last worn here in February with shades of gold
  • Polyester skirt - Club Monaco, consignment, Sidney; purchased here for $34.98
  • Leather boots - Mamzelle, thrifted; last seen here (3rd outfit) in October for shopping with my gals at Turnabout

I loved wearing this wonderful wool and silk-lined plaid and tweed blazer again. You know asymmetry is my favourite - look at that lapel!
You can't see it at all, but I'm wearing my Prada sweater under there, and a camisole under that!

It's a shame about the skirt, as it's very pretty and flounced around beautifully.
I like a little more structure in my skirts, plus it doesn't have pockets. It's not rock & roll enough for my taste.

Due to all the extra layers, I only wore a silk/cashmere scarf, a fuzzy toque and long gloves.
I didn't need a coat! I do walk very briskly.

The stuff:
You might have noticed that I wore the green bangle over the gloves. So chi-chi!

  • Fuzzy toque - thrifted
  • Silk/cashmere pashmina - Italy, gift from Mom
  • Long leather gloves - Gestuz, consignment

Amber bling:
The new bangle was excellent, as was the silver loopy ring.

  • Gold-plated/enamel brooch - De Passille-Sylvestre, vintage 70s, consignment
  • Bakelite cuff - consignment, Sidney; purchased here for $20.00
  • Silver/amber bracelet - consignment
  • Silver/amber thumb ring - consignment
  • Silver Anneke & Lars ring - vintage mall
  • Silver chain ring - Mexican, consignment
  • Silver loopy ring - Mexican, consignment, Sidney; purchased here for $15.00
  • Silver/amber ring - Past Times, gift from L, 1995
  • Silver/glass necklace - vintage 1920s, vintage mall
  • Silver/amber earrings - vintage mall

Hey, boys, do you like your new post?
"I accept this."      "I LOVE IT!"

I missed catching them sitting looking out the window with their tails touching - so cute!
Aw, wish I could stay home with you!

  1. It's good that you can sell on your finds when you change your mind about them, and let someone else have a chance to enjoy them. That is such an interesting jacket and it works well with the soon to be dismissed skirt. The boys posed very nicely for you on the new post.

  2. Those boys are supermodels!
That skirt tones beautifully with the jacket but if you ain't feeling it then out it goes! xxx

    1. They definitely know their angles! I already have two skirts in those exact shades, Vix - this one is just not good enough quality to keep.

  3. I agree with Vix, both about your boys being supermodels and our skirt looking fantastic with that fabulous asymmetrical jacket. Loving the gold-plated/enamel brooch and the green bangle worn over the gloves! xxx

  4. I concur with all the previous commentators – the fabulous jacket goes so nicely with the interesting (to my eye) skirt, but if you ain't feeling it then fie on the skirt and out it goes. Still, the outfit has a definite 'put together' look with a modicum of quirky to it.
I also concur with Whateley and Barnabus being supermodels. They show up in all the right places and position themselves to great advantage. ;-)

    1. The skirt is...fine. But to Always Be Upgrading, it would not pass muster. I have my long silk Essentiel Antwerp skirt (the Ruffled Cowboy one) that's the same as the lighter green, and I have an asymmetrical skirt in the same darker green, both designer, both better quality.
The boys are budding superstars, for sure! So much cuteness!

  5. I have to agree with all the prior comments! Loving the skirt/jacket combo and the fuzzy supermodels! Understand about the skirt quality issue, also. Sometimes things just don’t ring our bells once in play. Looked fab though! ReaderRita

    1. Thanks, Rita! I knew I'd be able to resell the skirt, and while I love certain aspects (the swoosh!), I have other better versions of it.

    1. It will be a nice addition to someone's closet when I sell it. :)
