So, there will not be a Mom-Day tomorrow, as I'll be doing the bulk of the seasonal change. I didn't want to subject them to all my clothes and shoes AND a vacuum cleaner.
- Sleeveless shirt - Denver Hayes, consignment; last worn here with crinkles and sequins in September
- Dress - I'M Isola Marras, Spring/Summer 2013, Florence, Italy; last seen here (2nd outfit) in September 2024 with chartreuse pants for a shop in Oak Bay
- Tulle skirt - Papillon; last worn here in August for a jaunt to North Saanich
- Boots - Slacker Vagabond, Fluevog; last seen here (2nd outfit) in April with suede and denim
- Rain Pickle - Ilse Jacobsen; last worn here in March...the last outfit before my spring/summer closet swap-over
This dress has been with me since 2014 - I can't believe it's been 11 years since L, Louise, me and Mom all went to Italy! This is the only piece of clothing that's survived.
Just for fun, enjoy our trip all over again:
I should do a Flashback on this dress - I've worn it a ton of different ways - but eh, I need to save my energy for the swap-over and Friday Kittens.
This time, I layered my sleeveless pink shirt under the dress, opened up the bottom and popped my frothy pink tulle skirt under it.
The back is so interesting.
I loved all these colours together. It was supposed to rain today, but it did not, and I ended up sweating, just soaking wet, from this waterproof jacket, aka The Rain Pickle.
A man SHOUTED at me about how much he enjoyed my colours - and he high-fived me. Okay!

Most of this will be packed away for 6 months. Buh-bye, green set!
Really did not need the scarf, but isn't it a good match? I think the boots are the same season. I walked to and from work in them - they're great in the rain (that did not happen).
- Mulberry silk scarf - Fluevog
Most of this will be packed away for 6 months. Buh-bye, green set!
- Enamel/crystal cuff - Lauren G. Adams, consignment
- Lemon-lime crystal brooch/earrings - vintage 60s, Gram S's
- Green crystal bracelet - vintage 60s, Mom's
- Olivine/coral ring - Hawaii, c. 1977, Mom's
- Malachite ring - consignment
I'll be posting my outfit, along with the kittens' names, on Friday and will be back on Sunday with my closet swap-over. See you soon!
Whew, I just “returned” from your Italian trip. You four covered a lot of ground and I enjoyed looking at your pictures once again. How special to have been able to make that trip with both your Moms. ❤️
ReplyDeleteClothing and jewelry or any item that can be used regularly all make for the best souvenirs because they are seen often enough and make for wonderful reminders of place.
Just chuckling as I imagine that with two kitties you will have to be ever zealous about your closet door and with two I could see one distracting you while the other gets up to shenanigans. Thinking of your future captions. ;) And that is half the fun of kittens! 🐱🐱
Here’s to closet swapping and kittens homecoming!
Cheers, Laurie
I thought you might enjoy that, Laurie - it's been a long time since I posted the links. I'm so glad we did that when we had the opportunity - it's wonderful to have those memories.
DeleteI agree - I've always picked up jewelry (and some clothes) when I travel, to remind me of the place, time and companion(s).
Oh, yes, I will be VERY careful with the closet! Vizzini "trained" us so well, that we are probably being overly cautious, but better to be safe. Yes, looking forward to discovering each cat's "voice" in future posts, hee hee.
Closet swap is done (and I'm aching and sore from it), so watch for the post this weekend! Kitty post tonight!
What a fantastic finale for your spring/summer season!
ReplyDeleteWhat with the kittens coming home soon, I think it's very sensible to do your swap-over early. This weekend will be all about getting to know each other, I guess!
I am super excited for you! xxx
Thank you so much, Ann! It's all done (I'll post about it this weekend), and it was a little sad, as I've never done a closet swap-over without my companion Vizzini, even though he usually hid under the bed covers. The kittens will be settle in March and I'm sure it will be chaotic!
DeleteI'm SO excited. Only about 6 hours to go!
I'M SO EXCITED TO 'MEET' THE KITTENS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's a good idea to do the swap before you get tiny claws trying to 'help'! This outfit is so pretty- I love the colour combo! Would also holler across the road at you in admiration!x
Oh my gosh, SAME, Kezzie! I can't wait to get them home!
DeleteI did the swap yesterday (and am feeling all the aches and pains from 6+ hours of physical labour), and you'll be able to enjoy the post this weekend.
Ha, I wish he'd been across the road - he was right in my face, and even wanted a high-five! Thank you!
Two new kitten friends! How lovely. Wishing you and L and the felines a happy settling-in together.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Julia!
DeleteDelightful pink and green! What a lovely outfit to end the spring/summer season on; glad it had admirers in the wild, sad that the encounter was a bit in your face. Hope you have recovered from the swap-over, and have two happy kittens helping you do more of that right now!!! Cannot wait to meet them! Kitten energy! Whoop!

Many thanks, Rita! Yeah, I get those kinds of encounters every so often - I wasn't unsafe but it's awkward.
DeleteRecovering well! Kittens are a handful!
The colour of the laces on the boots can make such a difference! In this case, it really ties the outfit together. The dress and the laces with their purple and the tulle skirt with its pink- they match so well. As for the colour of the boots, I do love a statement green.
ReplyDeleteThe scarf matches perfectly as well. The bracelet is so lovely. You do look fabulous. Thank you for sharing your fantastic styling with us. Have a nice day!
I thought so too, Ivana, and I appreciate that you noticed (your artistic eye). I adore lime green boots!
DeleteThanks!
