Welcome back, my friends, to good ol' Monday. Wait? It's Tuesday? Oh, this is good news.
I fully armoured up for today, in bright colours. "Oh, you're painty coloured!" said colleague Vizz. "Exactly!" I said.
A splash of coral, a swoosh of mustard, a bit of burgundy, some orange dabbles, and a liberal glop of pale pink. Don't forget the black and gold!
- Sweater - M by Missoni, thrifted; purchased here for $39.95
- Camisole - not tracked, thrifted
- Skirt - Soaked in Luxury; last seen here in May with a velvet jacket
- Sneakers - Findlay, consignment; last worn here in September with space pants and green satin
- Leather trenchcoat (below) - vintage 90s, thrifted; last seen here a week ago
I built the outfit in a flurry of fabrics over the weekend - I played in my closet for over an hour, creating enough outfits to take me into December. It felt so good!
The Missoni sweater was the starting piece, and I quickly discovered the lack of colours to go with coral in my fall/winter closet. I'll be tucking this lovely knit away until April. I liked it otherwise - I left the hem untucked and flapped my bell sleeves around.
The skirt stays out all year - it seems to go with everything! It's a fake wrap-around with a (sparkly) black elasticated waist, and is lined in a light pink.

I've gone through many "I Left It Out In the Rain" skirts over the years.
This is the best one I've had. Peak Painty Skirt!

It's still bright enough to warrant my sunnies in the morning, but not on the way home.
I prefer being Incognito.

Not really ready to go back to an office of people - it was a busy day.
I'm going to have to get my warmer coats out soon - Leather Weather is drawing to an end.
Accoutrements:
I'll have to unpack the really warm scarves too!
- Silk scarf - vintage, thrifted
- Bucket hat - Picabo, vintage 00s, vintage fair
- Wool gloves - Parkhurst
I took the easy way and wore gold sneakers. I just didn't feel like "real" shoes.
Golden bling:
The sweater has a massive neckline - I liked how this bib necklace filled it in.
- Necklace - consignment
- Leather belt - Sangiorgio, vintage, consignment
- Eelskin bird bracelet - vintage sale
- Eelskin "GG" bracelet - fake Gucci, Italy, c. 1986, gift from Mom & Dad
- Brass ring - vintage 70s, vintage mall
- Amber ring - c. 1996
- Earrings - thrifted
How was your Monday Tuesday?
That's a wonderful skirt! Pleated skirts are so fabulous, know idea why they ever were frumpy!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderfully coloured outfit.
ReplyDeleteThe faux wrap skirt is so lovely!
Fabulous coat as well.
You look fantastic!
This is such a cheerful look! And, now, that song (you know…the one about leaving the cake out in the rain…who does that) is stuck in my head! I really like the swooshy skirt. Every time I see that trench, I wonder if it’s one I had. But, that was back in the 70s. I really wish I’d kept it. Have a fabulous day!
