Yes, my bronze Burberry jacket was in Limbo - it's actually been for sale at House of Savoy for the past three months, and was returned to me as unsold.

- Top - Baden Baden, consignment; last seen here (2nd outfit) in April with a leopard maxi
- Trousers - BCBG Max Azria, consignment; last worn here in April with daisy oranges
- Shoes - Super Fine Cardinal, Fluevog; last seen here in April with these same trousers
But when I was sorting my Limbo pile for the sale, I had to pull it out.
It's still an amazing piece - this is its 18th wearing and considering I paid $220 for it (a super $12.22 cost-per-wear), it's still looking great.
I took it off briefly after my morning stair-climb.

Having adopted your “regret-me-not”’ approach to clothing awaiting another home, I pulled out a red sweatshirt from my give-away pile and am glad to have it back for these cool summer mornings. I did the same thing with a bronze colored sweater a few weeks ago as it went perfectly with a pair of patterned pants. I always think of you when a piece of clothing is rescued from the give-away pile!
ReplyDeleteAll that by way of saying that the bronze metallic jacket is a nice complement to your pants. The color, cut and length are just right and in summer weather it doesn’t need to be closed; only needs to provide arm warmth and sun protection, plus the jacket bookends the shoes. :)
The matching necklace and earrings are an artistic combo and remind me that accessories and jewelry can be just as powerful as ‘clothing as armor.’ I made full use of bracelets as armor this weekend!

Like Laurie, I've adopted your "regret-me-not" approach - and the expression. Although I've been rescuing items from my flea market boxes, I always considered it a weakness of mine, but thanks to you I no longer do. Particularly as there have been quite a few regrets over the years! xxx
I don't have a really strong emotional connection to most of my clothes, Ann, so it wasn't a huge deal to part with the bronze jacket. However, when it came back to me, I knew it was fate. Regret-me-nots are NOT a weakness - they are clearly a sign of good judgment :).
