Jammy Black and Red

I was looking around in my closet, and my eyes alit on this blouse - I've only worn it once, so time to style it up again.
A classic Jammy Dress outfit!

  • Silk blouse - Pierre Cardin, vintage 70s, consignment; first seen here in April with leopard and mock-croc
  • Nylon dress - Motion, vintage 90s, consignment; last worn here in November 2024 with my Halston blouse
  • Booties - MJUS, thrifted, Sidney; purchased here for $29.99
  • Leather coat (below) - Danier Leather; last seen here (2nd outfit) in January over plaid pants

I layered it under this lovely "parachute" nylon dress. It's swooshy in a stiff sort of way.
And it makes that Nylon Noise. Whoosh! Also - pockets! Hooray!

I picked the coat to complement the boots.
I liked how the bubble hem of the dress flared out under the slim coat.

The stuff:
I walked to and from work in these booties, and they were very comfortable. I added a thick insole as they are a size too big. Perfect!

  • Scarf - Uniqlo X Marimekko, consignment
  • Pleather hat - Babaton, consignment
  • Suede gloves - no brand, purchased here at Dots for $19.99

Minimal bling:
I'd forgotten that the sleeves on the silk blouse are very short, and had skipped bracelets. I missed them.

  • Ponyhair belt - Gap, thrifted
  • Anneke & Lars silver ring - vintage mall
  • Silver/jasper ring - thrifted
  • Silver/red enamel ring - antique shop, Sidney
  • Metal rose earrings - Betsey Johnson, swap from Cat

Last night, L came and got me - one of the kittens was finally using the cushy house we bought for them! Whateley, you look so happy.
"This is soft."

Of course, he only snoozed there that one time and only for a little while.

I had supervision in the bathroom in the morning: the gargoyle, Barnabas and Whateley.
"What's she doing to her face?"       "I don't know, but I'd like to chew on that brush..."

Flocked, Brocade and Pink

Hello, and welcome back, Gentle Readers! Another week, but I'm ready for it, having given myself a good session in my closet on Sunday, preparing for the week ahead.
I've had these things hung together since I got the pink sweater - it matches the boots perfectly.

  • Wool blazer - The Elite, vintage 80s, thrifted; last worn here in January with aqua and leopard
  • Cotton sweater - Northern Reflections, thrifted; purchased here for $11.95
  • Flocked skirt - no label, consignment; last seen here in September for a Mom-Day shop
  • Boots - Jubilee Gladstone, Fluevog; last worn here in December 2024 with pink, gold and black
  • Sleeveless coat (below) - Only, thrifted; last seen here in November

That made for an easy Monday outfit - all I had to do was add a bunch of accessories.
The sweater was excellent, worth every one of its twelve dollars. I enjoyed wearing the velvet flocked tulle skirt again too.

The black wool blazer is incredibly beautiful and so well made.
Those buttons just kill me. Back detail!

Pops of pink! I was a little chilled in my sleeveless coat.
It's hovering in the single digits, but now rain has begun in earnest, and the humidity makes it colder - I feel it in my bones.

The stuff:
These brocade boots are so gorgeous, but tricky to style.

  • Crocheted collar - vintage thrifted wool, made by me!
  • Toque - thrifted
  • Leather gloves - consignment
  • Big tree pin - Keyes, gift from Ev, c. 1997

I was delighted to wear my golden collar again!

Black and gold bling:
I did a cluster of pins on the blazer's lapel.

  • Belt - Charmant by Deborah Marinoff, vintage 70s, thrifted
  • Snake bracelet - vintage 90s, consignment
  • Eelskin hinged bracelet - vintage 80s, thrifted
  • Gold/amethyst ring - Frances Jewelers, c. 1965, Dad's
  • Brass ring - vintage 70s, vintage mall
  • Lizard brooch - vintage, gift from Cat
  • Tree pin - Avon
  • Heart pin - consignment
  • Necklace - J. Crew, consignment
  • Earrings - thrifted

As I was about to leave in the morning, I turned around to find the boys on the hall-tree.
"This bag has to stay."          "And you can't leave without this one!"

Oh, sweet kittens, I'm so sorry to leave you!
