A pretty sunrise this morning on the Castle.
I knew when I bought this lined corduroy dress that I wanted to wear it like a duster. Colleague Glenn admired it and was surprised when I told him it was a dress.
I layered it over a mesh patterned top, and then pulled on my comfy lined herringbone tweed trousers (with pockets!).
The dress has pockets too.
The colour is a deep cherry red. It's a very fine-wale corduroy. The stuff:
Brutalist bling:
I adore this stuff - I know it's not to everyone's taste, but it rings my bell.
I liked that the red shoelaces matched!

"I like this man."
Whateley and Barnabas sleep up here frequently.
"Do we have to get up?" "Is there food?"
Destroying my curtains.
They've actually been pretty good, although I still need to deal with my lights.

When I got up last night, Whateley took my place on the couch. Hey, buddy, move it!
"No, I don't think so."
In the sink!! Oh my, that is simply adorable and quite hilarious! And is Barnabas trying to comb his whiskers? ;-)
ReplyDeleteI'm reading your posts in reverse from this current entry to older ones and immediately I noticed your haircut! Yay! Your look says classy and comfortable, and when those two features blend they make for the best outfits.
Cheers, Laurie (having a grand time with grandchildren!)
The little monsters were there again this morning - I turned the tap on Whateley and he didn't even budge! I had to push him out so I could brush my teeth!
DeleteMy hair never stays nice and smooth - it's always bushy/wavy from the humidity within an hour.
Yay! Enjoy the grandkidlets!
Great outfit - love, love the colour of the duster. Your kitties are amazing! You are inspiring me to add some fall-ish colour to my mostly black, beige and white wardrobe. I think reddish-burgundy would work!
ReplyDeleteI do too, Robyn, it's such a rich colour and oddly not one you see much. I agree, add a bit of colour to your black and white! The kittens are the cutest!
DeleteGorgeous cord dress/duster. Cutie pie kitties. My pretty boy is the first cat I have ever had who loves water. Rgds Lise
ReplyDeleteThank you, Lise! I guess Whateley is a water cat! I've never had one, so it's weird.
DeleteThose kitten photos have made my morning, look at them taking over the sink, ragging the curtains and looking all sleepy and cute. I love them!
ReplyDeleteThe dress looks superb as a duster coat, the colour is splendid! xxx
Aren't they just the CUTEST, Vix? My heart melts, but they are also getting into everything! I accidentally locked Barnabas in the hall closet last night (the little black paw poking out was so sweet).
DeleteThank you!
I'd never have guessed it was actually a dress if you hadn't told us. It looks absolutely brilliant as a duster, and I'm loving its colour, which works really well with the grey! Also swooning over your Brutalist bling. You've got such a wonderful collection!
ReplyDeleteI had to laugh at Whateley lying in the sink. Bess does that too, although she does prefer the kitchen sink :-) xxx
Right, Ann? It's almost better as a duster than a dress! I love getting a wearing in of almost my full pewter collection.
DeleteWhateley and Barnabas have not been on the kitchen counters, nor in the sink...YET.
Elegant outfit, love the shoes! Thanks for the kitten laugh. Whateley in the sink is priceless!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! I know, isn't that the sweetest thing?
