Funky Friday: Dark Floral Jumpsuit With Matchy Copper

Ah, Friday - at last! I spent time yesterday wardrobing my new-to-me items and creating outfits - some of my purchases will be presented in the fall, and some will appear in ensembles over the next few weeks.

Today, I eyed this dark floral jumpsuit (pulled out to wear "sometime"), and discovered that my acquired copper pieces meshed with some of my existing collection, and went perfectly with the colours in the pinky-orange flowers.
I'm also at the point where it's time to road-test my clogs to see if they are going to be wearable without tights or nylons. It's the barefoot test!

  • Jumpsuit - Zara, consignment; last worn here in June 2020 with speckled shoes
  • Cami - thrifted, not tracked
  • Shoes - Swedish Hasbeens, thrifted; last seen here in June with purple tigers
  • Jacket (below) - InWear; last worn here (5th outfit) in my "Sailor Pants Worn 5 Ways" post in June

This is a fairly easy jumpsuit to wear - it has one button with an elastic loop at the nape of the neck, and an easy-to-reach zip at my waist in the back.
Did you notice the giant slits on the sides of the legs in the stair picture? Extra ventilation and swooshiness!
A cami is always needed underneath.

My eyes go right to that giant copper belt - it is solid copper!
It's one of the treasures in my vintage copper collection.

Masked up and doing the Wonder Woman pose - it makes me feel powerful and confident.
Make way, Boss Lady comin' through!

  • Mask - Lazy Susan's

The temps here have dropped down to the high teens/low 20s - a much more comfortable range for us. There were even clouds in the sky.
I needed another layer, so added this orange double-breasted blazer. I wore it out to lunch with a coworker, and the server raved over how cool it was.

The stuff:
I walked to the lunch restaurant and back to the office in these shoes with bare feet, and I'm happy to report my feet have survived. There are a few hard spots that rub on my toes, but I'd been expecting my feet to be torn to shreds (I always carry bandaids). It was a pleasant surprise not to have my feet destroyed.

Copper bling:
Isn't the belt amazing? I'm boggled that I found this at a vintage fair in November 2016 for only $40.00 (pic here). These are quite rare - I did not even know Renoir made belts until I found this.

  • Belt - Renoir, vintage 60s, vintage fair
  • Necklace - Renoir, vintage 60s, vintage fair
  • Earrings/rings - Glee, purchased here for $14.97 for the earrings, and $11.37 per ring

I was very pleased with how the new earrings match the necklace. I loved wearing these new pieces all day. Matchy makes my heart happy.

And now, my friends, there is a yowling cat calling - and I must attend if I care for my life. Wishing you all a safe and happy weekend!

  2. Love this outfit!

One of my pairs of clogs rub my toes badly (but are way to pretty to pass on - bright yellow at the front, silver around the ankle!) so I’ve discovered silicone toe sleeves! Sore toes no more!

    1. I looked these up right away, Tat! Thanks for the tip, I'm going to see if I can find these locally - I need them for my bony toes!

      Thanks, honey!

  3. Oo la la, I am oogling the jumpsuit! I would absolutely wear it, which makes me chuckle because it is similar to a maxi length dress or skirt, which I am not yet comfy with. Maybe it’s the slits and the color and pattern that appeal? LOL I need (want) to expand my wardrobe repertoire!

Yay copper! Do you store it in special bags the way silver has to be stored?

I, too, carry bandaids. One must be prepared! Nothing like ouchy feet to impact the pleasure of walking.

Vizzini, be kind, the woman feeds you and keeps you in comfort!

    Happy weekend!

    1. It's very much like wearing a maxi dress or skirt, and I think you should definitely be trying those styles, Laurie! Go for it!

No, it's all jumbled together in my jewelry box. Most of it is coated to prevent oxidization. I do minimal care on all of my jewelry.

Yes, I so agree! I'm going to look for those silicone toe protectors Tat mentioned, though!

He's pretty good - just a little cranky most days (like me, heh heh). Happy weekend to you and Fred!

  5. That jumpsuit is utterly gorgeous, Sheila, and that copper belt is just wow! Also loving the orange double breasted blazer. Ah, the barefoot test! I'm so glad to hear the Hasbeens have made the grade. I only have a limited amount of shoes that can be worn barefoot for any length of time, so I'm always carrying bandaids and blister patches. I'm intrigued by the silicone toe sleeves mentioned by Tat!
Have a most excellent weekend, Sheila xxx

    1. Thanks so much, Ann! I also rarely wear my shoes barefoot - my poor toes are subject to blisters, so I have no patience with shoes that hurt them more. I'm also on the lookout for those toe sleeves! What a thing! Who knew?

Thank you, my dear friend, you too!

  9. So chic, so beautiful! Copper jewelry and accessories are firm faves of mine - not the least because they're often naturally nickel-free (which is vital for those like me who are woefully allergic to this commonplace metal).

Hope your weekend is going positively. It's sunny, but not unbearably warm, and beautiful on this end (save, of course, for the barrage of wildfire smoke in the air).

    1. I LOVE copper, and it's never really been a trend since these were made back in the 60s, oddly. How nice that it works for you and you're not allergic, Autumn!

Thank you, my dear friend. I hope the smoke dissipates soon!

    1. That's cool - I only wore it for warmth. It's an off proportion, but I don't mind it.

Sorry, Greetje! I wear a lot of outfits! I have to stay on top of them.

  12. I love the jumpsuit and the incredible belt and hoorah for the Hasbeens not shredding your feet!
I probably expect too much from my footwear but if I can't wear my shoes with barefeet then they're straight off to the charity shop. I'm intruiged by Tat's comment about toe sleeves, I'm off to investigate! xxx
