I built this outfit around the new-to-me sweater, wearing it plain for its debut.
I have plans for layering a shirt under it, but it's still too warm out for that.
- Cotton sweater - All Saints, consignment; purchased here for $30.00
- Wool trousers - Red Valentino, consignment; last worn here in January for New Year's Eve
- Booties - Matisse, thrifted; last seen here in April with red linen
- Loomed Lady coat (below) - vintage 1960s, thrifted; last worn here in December 2024
A lovely sunrise glow on the Castle.
Clouds are beginning to build up here and there.
I ended up tucking in the sweater which made things a little bulky around the hips.
It's a thin-ISH sweater and is 100% cotton so I risked it. Lesson learned! I loved wearing my 100% wool chalkstripe trousers again - a few new moth-holes have appeared, but I don't really care.
They're Valentino! and I sewed the cuffs myself! The Loomed Lady returns! I know she's a favourite of many of you.
It was warm enough to just wear it open like this. I took the gloves off immediately (and forgot to photograph them).

The big round bracelet, the tile bracelet below that, the necklace and the spider ring are all Mexican in origin. Cool. - Belt - vintage 90s, consignment

What, no cat pictures?
ReplyDeleteOne of the admirers of the Loomed Lady here, and I'm also loving the cow disguised as pony booties! xxx
Ha ha! I will have more, haven't been taking daily pictures, plus they are so fast!
DeleteThanks so much, Ann!
I like your outfit! The sweater is pure fun and the fact that it is cotton simply melts my heart because my eye is always looking for long sleeve cotton tops. (I’m allergic to wool and during winter cotton plays well with my skin. :)) I see the top and shoes as bookends of interest due to their interesting styles. Add in all your accessories and the Loomed Lady and your outfit screams classy comfort.
ReplyDeleteI imagine Whateley and Barnabas contentedly hanging out on your bed till you and L have headed out. Then…it’s a cat explorers dream…spaces to investigate, scratching poles to climb, windows to peer out of… Are they able to see your neighbor’s cat from the porch?
Cheers, Laurie
Same, Laurie, 100% cotton is a big reason why I bought the sweater. Thank you so much - I appreciate your thoughtful comments.
DeleteI suspect they sleep all day (they like the bedroom post, then the bed, then the couch, in that order), and then get up to their kitty shenanigans when we are home.
No, they can't see Kes from our place (he's on the opposite corner), but Barnabas was transfixed by a squirrel in the maple tree this morning, and they've both been watching birds in the trees.
Nice booties!
ReplyDeletethank you!
DeleteLove how the cold shoulder cutouts are the perfect frames for your ink. Rgds Lise
ReplyDeleteI also like things that hint at my ink. :) thanks, Lise!

ReplyDeleteit's an amazing coat! Thanks so much, Robyn! Sorry about the issues with the sign-in - it's a Google thing (doesn't keep you signed in on an iPhone).
DeleteDo not know why I came up as anonymous as I have previously posted as Robyn. Fixed now.
ReplyDeleteYay, thanks, Robyn!
DeleteThe black pants are so chic. I always loved wide trousers. The neutral palette in this styling works really well.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Ivana! I love "boss pants" like these.
