- Wool/silk dress - Diane Von Furstenberg, thrifted; last seen here in June 2025 with blue shoes
- Dragon kimono topper - Golden Bee, thrifted; purchased here for $14.95
- Shoes - Prepare Guide, Fluevog; last worn here (3rd outfit) in May for Mack's birthday party (I was a jellyfish!)
I actually discovered several areas of the neckline edging where it was separating from the robe - I whipped out my needle and thread and sewed them all up.
And the dragon matches the dress!
Incognito.
It was chilly enough to need a scarf! Brr! Thankfully it was sunny on the way home, but still not exactly hot.
I loved all this colour - it made me happy.
It's such a great dress. I love all the giant cabbage roses on it, and it has pockets.
This is my third time wearing it - I have worn it with these shoes before. I deliberated keeping it out for fall/winter layering last year and I'll have to consider that again - I do prefer short skirts with tights. Incognito.

You might have noticed something missing in the bling picture...
My gorgeous colleague Angie admired my chunky turquoise necklace. I was feeling "meh" about it, and she LOVED it...better to someone who really loves it, right? I'm happy it's gone to a good home.
And lastly, before I take a small break, Whateley would like to challenge Barnabas for sexy kitty.
HA! What a silly boy.I'll be back on Thursday after Mom-Day - Happy Canada Day!

Whatley wins ! :)). Gorgeous kimono and dress.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Lise! He's such a big suck.
DeleteThe kimono works beautifully, it was a good find. I thought of you when I dressed today for a barbecue late afternoon to early evening. It was hot, but by the river and I decided that skinny jeans and a long striped top with sleeves would keep any bugs off and I didn't feel too hot in them. The bugs weren't too bad, but I noticed that one of the guys who lived next to our hosts, slipped home and changed from shorts into long pants!
ReplyDeleteWhateley wants us to admire his continuing all round stripes, I think.
Thank you! Oh, good for you, very smart to keep the bugs away!
DeleteWhateley just loves attention!
Outfit-wise one of the many reasons I enjoy your blog is that often I will be completely surprised or wowed by an ensemble you’ve created. If I was wearing socks then ‘this outfit knocked my socks off’ would be 100% accurate for describing my response to this ensemble! The dress on its own is a beauty; with those red fishnet stockings and turquoise accessories it becomes a stunner, and topping it with the kimono makes it outstanding! And then to truly top it all off that dragon on the kimono’s back in matching colors to the dress simply ups the ante! I particularly love that the kimono changes the look just enough that it’s like having two outfits in one. :-)
ReplyDeleteAngie lucked out being in the right place at the right time where the chunky necklace was, for you, simply an accessory (and not so much loved) and for her it was a Wow-oh-yes-please. :-) How many people in your office have become recipients of your generosity? I’ll bet quite a few!
Happy Canada Day! Enjoy your mid-week double scoop days off! Cheers, Laurie
Oh, thank you so much, Laurie! I had fun with this one. I like how the kimono adds a little oomph to the outfit.
DeleteI have literally given the shoes off my feet and a jacket off my back! I'd say about half a dozen people have been "instant" recipients of pieces I've been wearing. I always tell my colleagues, "If you like something I'm wearing and are interested in it, tell me, and I'll give it to you when I'm done with it."
Thank you! It's a lovely break!
The kimono is beautiful...and that silk and wool dress is fabulous. These two materials blend together beautifully, I wish there were more silk & wool combos out there.
ReplyDeleteI have one silk and wool skirt I adore. It's from fashion house Edi.
I have never heard of Edi, I'll look it up, thank you, Ivana! I love silk/wool blends. I'm wearing a silk/linen/wool blend menswear blazer today - it's sumptuous!
DeleteThank you!
