I went with a classic autumn look to show off the new-to-me plaid blazer.
It's in good hands with my Bark Skirt and brown boots, both old favourites that I've had for years.
- Blazer - Bianca Nygard, thrifted; purchased here for $20.00
- Sweater - Betty Barclay, thrifted; last seen here (2nd outfit) in February, layered under a Dries tunic
- Skirt - Gunex, thrifted; last worn here in March to the periodontist
- Leather boots - Rockport, thrifted; last seen here in September with a Jammy Dress
I mostly looked like this in the office, although I did get a little warm at times.
I preferred the look with the jacket on. I did the belt over the sweater as a nod to the 70s vibe.
The jacket is really lovely quality.
This was a very comfy and happy outfit. I twirled for colleague Kristina.- Silk scarf - Smoking Lily, thrifted
- Wool beret - consignment
- Fur rose - thrifted
- Leather gloves - Picabo, Powell River
Brassy bling:
I remember Mom wearing the pendant in the 70s/early 80s. - Belt - Pringle of Scotland, vintage fair; last worn here in February
- Carved cinnabar bangle - consignment
- Brass/leather cuff - vintage 70s, Mom's
- Brass horoscope necklace - Mexican, vintage 70s, Mom's
- Brass/glass ring - Raphael of Canada, vintage 70s, consignment
- Brass Brutalist ring - vintage 70s, vintage mall
- Bronze ring (not shown) - P. Sarpaneva, vintage 70s, vintage expo
- Metal rose earrings - Betsey Johnson, swap from Cat
- Mink rose brooch (not shown) - thrifted
I left the brooch on the jacket and I always forget the bronze ring.
Cat pictures! L was out last night and I was left with galloping fur demons.
Much chasing, rolling around and tiny, tiny meows. Whateley, what are you doing with that remote?
"Return the Man or you'll never change the channel again."
He chewed on it.
When I got home from work tonight, I heard a scuffle!
Kittens in the tub! This is a BIG favourite thing to do. I'm sure find the shower curtain on the floor at some point.
Tonight as I worked on this very post, Barnabas came to visit.
"I LOVE you."
He has the loudest purr! He stayed there for a while, even letting me type around him.
"I'm going to be a star!"
Barnabas is such a lovely little guy. Aw!
I'll be back tomorrow with Mom-Day and my birthday!
That little Barnabas face! His ears are very seasonably appropriate- they look like bat ears! (Although, to me, it is always bat time! Season, shmeason)
ReplyDeleteThank you for letting us live “the kitten experience” vicariously through you! Yay!
Oh, and I love this outfit also. Very profesh with a twist; most excellent. That new blazer is a real winner, and it looks fab belted!
~readerrita
I know! We both thought he looked like a bat! Such a cutie!
DeleteThanks so much, I love this blazer!
Oh, my gosh! I love seeing these kitten faces! I have been busy and, for some reason, I just cannot figure out how to subscribe to your blog! I apologize for being gone though I doubt you noticed! Love the outfit. I won't tell you it's still been in the 80s (27C) here in Central Indiana and is only just beginning to cool off. You look spectacular as always though I would melt right now if I were wearing that!

Ugh, it's impossible to subscribe to blogs anymore - one of the reasons I started my Substack. I did notice, and apologize for not coming around (life got busier!). Sorry to hear you're missing out on prime fall weather, Marsha! Thanks so much for being here.
DeleteThose faces! I'm already wildly in love with your boys!
ReplyDeleteA lovely Autumn look - the checked jacket is wonderful on you. Its been very mild since we got hom elast week, as Phil Collins' said "No Jacket Required".
Happy Birthday for tomorrow, Sheila! xxx
I am too, Vix! They are so friendly (currently, both following the cleaners around) and adorable.
DeleteJacket season is the best part of fall! Thanks so much for the early birthday wishes!
As I am typing this comment early on Thursday morning, H A P P Y 🎈B I R T H D A Y ❣️
ReplyDeleteHow special to be spending it with your Mom!
Now for your cat channel…in the bathtub! That’s the one that had me quietly laughing (shh, Fred is still sleeping 💤) followed by Whateley and the remote, which produced another quiet chuckle at the thought of his accidentally turning on the television while you and L are out of the house! Then there is Barnabas, who has me swooning as he nestles into your lap. Obviously he prefers the written word to Whateley’s video tastes. ;)
Your outfit, oh yes pure fall for warmth, colors, and the combo of the swishy skirt and blazer belted. The entire outfit complete with accessories comes together so perfectly. I am imagining it as the base of a travel capsule with the addition of a pair of pants, a few other tops, and a change of shoes. (I have packing for a trip on my mind! A week from today I’ll be commenting from Brussels!)
Enjoy your birthday day off with your Mom!
Big hugs, Laurie
You just reminded me that one of our cats learned to turn on our electric piano and “played” it at 3 am! (Of course when my husband was on a business trip out of town… :-0
DeleteHit publish too quickly! The piano story above is from readerrita
DeleteLaurie, wishing you and Fred and awesome vacation in Brussels!! That's so exciting!
DeleteI so appreciate the birthday wishes, thank you! Mom is coming to meet the kitties later today.
They are so brave and adventurous, getting into everything.
Ha, I see why you have travel capsules on the brain! A jacket like this is perfect for that! (good pockets too).
Rita, that's hilarious! We haven't had any accidental remote activations...yet!
DeleteLove the kitten hijinx!!! 😻
ReplyDeleteThanks, Mary!
DeleteHaha you guys are funny. My kitty tried turning on the heater when he was little. He had seen me doing it and realised it makes warm. Now that he is a tall fully groen cat he moves through the apartment opening all the doors himself. If he will only learn to close them too., 🤣. HAPPY Birthday Sheila. Hope you have a fabulous day. rgds Lise
ReplyDeleteWhat a smart kitten/cat, Lise! I hope our kittens don't figure out the closet doors (Vizzini had). Thank you so much for the birthday wishes! <3
DeleteHappy birthday for tomorrow, Sheila!
ReplyDeleteYour classic Autumn look is gorgeous and surely that's the best plaid blazer ever. I love wearing a belt over a blazer too. I've been eyeing my berets, but it hasn't been cold enough for them.
I love Barnabas and Whateley's antics, and their captions. And of course, they are both going to be stars! xxx
Thank you so much, Ann! I loved this blazer and am excited to wear it again - yes, to belts over blazers! I'm happy to be back in Beret Season!
DeleteThey are adorable, and are happy to be raised in the public eye.
It must be fun to come home to Whateley and Barnabas after a day's work. Have a very happy birthday!
ReplyDeleteThey are still getting used to our routines, but they come running when I get home (I'm sure it's "cupboard love" as my mom calls it). Thank you so much!
DeleteA star is born!
ReplyDeleteTwo stars!
