I hadn't worn any of the clothing items yet this season. Backwards hangers, I see you!
- Nylon vest - Sun Kim, thrifted; first seen here in October 2024 with these same boots!
- Top - COS, thrifted; last worn here in October 2024...in that same outfit
- Jeans - By Malene Birger, thrifted; first seen here in March with a different Sun Kim top
- Boots - United Nude, consignment; last worn here (3rd outfit) in January with a mini-dress that moved to Limbo
I wore the top, vest and shoes together the first time I styled the then-new vest. I'm so creative, ha ha!
I enjoyed wearing these lace-printed stretchy jeans again. You can see the pattern best in the Stair Pic.
The vest was a good layer for walking, and for the office (plus it has pockets!). Such good back detail.
The black part does unzip - it comes right off! - but I am dubious as to the benefit. I guess I could wrap the bottom piece around my neck like a sculptural scarf?
I took the vest off when I arrived at the office.
It was warm out, I walk fast, plus I'd just hoofed it up several flights of stairs.
The back detail of the top is the best part.
I love a good peplum! That's practically a bustle.
Zipped up and incognito.
So futuristic! - Metal/green stone bracelet - vintage 1930s, vintage mall
- Steel cuff - Lakeland Art Metal Work, vintage 70s, thrifted
- Anneke & Lars silver ring - vintage mall
- Silver/crystal ring - Uffizi Gallery gift shop, Florence
- Steel earrings - gift from Lise
- Necklace - Club Monaco, c. 2009
I had forgotten that my steel cuff is marked. It says "Lakeland Art Metal Work Hand Made" inside.
So cool you have a bracelet made in Malta!
ReplyDeleteThe accessories in this outfit are a vibe. This gorgeous black statement necklace really stood out against the white top. The boots are phenomenal. I really like your styling overall.
I know, isn't that neat? You never see stuff made there.
DeleteThank you so much - such a huge compliment! <3
This is a fun and funky ensemble! I was going to say the vest, boots and jewelry make the outfit, but now I'm also kind of smitten by the peplum back of the white top. That one feature supplants the need for the vest, elevating the outfit without the vest into the realm of "wow."
ReplyDeleteYour package arrived today! The color is fabulous, definitely more vibrant than I imagined from the picture. The waist is a tad large (okay, more than a tad ;-)). However, since you suggested if it didn't work for me I could pass it along, I am going to try my hand at an alteration. So, sometime over the next few days out will come my sewing machine… I promise to send pictures when finished! (I've even pulled out three possible tops to wear with the skirt and I LOVE that the back hem is longer than the front; that will be a first for me!)
Cheers, Laurie
I like every piece to have a great detail, structure or vibe, Laurie, so no plain tops for me. I always plan so that I can wear an outfit without its topper if I need to.
DeleteOh, that is wonderful - very fast! yes, don't worry about altering it to make it fit, and if it still doesn't work, just pass it along to someone else. Welcome to the world of "mullet" skirts!
You are way more creative than I am, that's for sure!
ReplyDeleteThe lace-printed jeans, COS top, stripy boots and big black chain necklace are a fabulous combo. The unzippable black part of the futuristic vest does intrigue me. I'm guessing that the grey part looks even more futuristic on its own ... xxx
Being creative with my clothes is my favourite "art", Ann. I will have to try that vest with the black part zipped off, just so say I've done it!
DeleteThis all works so well together! I love the bustle on the top- you remind me of a bird with an excellent tail! The over piece is really nice too- I like the gentleness of this outfit!
ReplyDeleteI love that - yes, it's my tail! thank you, Kezzie!
