Ball of Sunshine and Leopard Repeat

Oh, these short weeks following long weekends can be brutal. Today was really busy, but it flew by, and nothing terrible happened. Win!
My mood was helped by this ball of sunshine dress, that's for sure!

  • Dress - Lida Baday, vintage 90s, thrifted; first worn here in August with gold shoes
  • Boots - Coffee Kope Tiam, Fluevog; last seen here in May with my lettuce dress
  • Cerulean coat (below) - no label, vintage, thrifted; purchased here for $19.99

The dress is rather bright - you could see me coming!

I might style this next with a roll-neck/turtleneck sweater and tall boots.

Yellow is such a good colour for these grey months.
I had to wear the leopard footless tights again - a hosiery repeat of Sunday.

Are patterned tights a thing? Is this the face of a woman who cares?
Nope, not really. I care more about having pockets in my dress.

Outerwear - the wide sleeves of the dress had me reaching for this oversized cerulean blue wool coat.
I have been dying to wear this since I bought it back in May - finally!

Isn't it awesome? I had a bunch of compliments on it while I was getting groceries after work.
It's not lined, but it's a great fall coat.

  • Scarf - fake Louis (Lewis!) Vuitton, thrifted
  • Leather studded gloves - Danier

The stuff:
Oof, these booties have gotten higher on me. My feet are tired! I also spilled some veggie dip on the toe at lunch. They're getting the cornstarch treatment right now - I'll let the cornstarch absorb the oil and then I'll put some weather protector on them, and they'll be right as rain.

Brassy bling:
My leopard scarf is 20 years old! I bought it when I worked at Fairweather back in 1999-2000, when it was trendy to have a jaunty scarf at one's throat.

  • Scarf - Fairweather, c. 1999
  • Brass strip cuff - Midzo, vintage expo
  • Brass/leather-lined cuff - vintage 70s, Mom's
  • Feather ring - Fossil, thrifted
  • Amber ring - c. 1996
  • Earrings - LA Express, c. 1994

I'm wearing a lot of vintage accessories today, and a bunch of it is homegrown.

I finished another Zentangle last night, this one for my coworker, Judy.
J is for Judy. She really liked it, but didn't realize I actually drew it freehand.

  1. What a wonderful sight on a wet Wednesday morning in Walsall! Love those Swedish colours. The yellow dress is insanely gorgeous and glad you've managed to get the oil out of your boot.
That Zentangle you did is beautiful, lucky Judy. xxx

  2. Love the yellow dress and that blue coat is perfect with it! i really like blue and yellow! :)

Hope the cornstarch trick works on your boots! I tried that with my clutch I spilled a burger on, even warming it with a hairdryer first to 'heat' the oil and help the cornstarch pull it out, but no luck :(

I hope so - it worked on my red shoes from last year, but it took time. Sorry to hear about your clutch. Aw...
