Circles and Squares

There is something about digging around in my closet that just delights me. I love coming up with new outfits, mixing in my older items with my new-to-me things.
My feet were tired from Saturday night's dancing still so flats were in order!

  • Top - Talbots, thrifted; last seen here in July 2018 with checkered McQueen pants
  • Trousers - Banana Republic, thrifted; purchased here for $22.95
  • Shoes - Zara, consignment, Vancouver; purchased here for $28.99
  • Coat (below) - Paparazzi, thrifted, Vancouver; last worn here in February with dots and chains

I'm very fond of graphic and bold patterns. I bought this top last year and love the circles. It's almost like lace.
"Never mind me over here."

I wore a red tank top under this top for extra warmth - it's supposed to be chilly all week.
"I'm just watching the door."

First wearing of these new-to-me wool, fully-lined trousers, and they were wonderful. I like that big windowpane plaid. Squares!

And the pockets!
"You could at least grab me for a cuddle."

Yeah, it's a Monday. Bring on the long weekend (although I don't get Monday off).

Outerwear - an abundance of flowers was needed.
 They add mental sunshine.

 The stuff:
I love the colour and the pointy toe of these shoes - I kind of wish they were a full shoe. They were comfortable enough, but I'm not quite on board the mule thing.

Silver bling:
More circles.

  • Silver pendant/earrings - M&M, consignment, Vancouver
  • Shield ring - Nine West
  • Silver/crystal ring - Soul Flower
  • Silver/gold bangle - JPL, vintage fair
  • Bangle - Lazy Susan's

  1. Loving your floral abundance raincoat! That red top is lovely, it does look like lace only far more interesting. Boo to not having Monday off and your cold weather. Apparently ours is set to get warmer by the end of the week - I shan't hold my breath! xxx

  2. What a gorgeous top, Sheila, and I love that you've accentuated the circles by wearing the circle pendant and earrings. And what to wear with circles? Well, squares of course! And flowers! Oh, that coat makes my heart sing! Sorry to hear about your cold weather. We've been having cold nights and mornings, but warming up during the day, so not too bad ... xxx

    1. I do like my geometric shapes, Ann - and my flowers! Spring is just all over the place, weather-wise. I should be used to it by now.

  4. It's a shame you're not fully loving the shoes as they look so cute! I love the red and grey together too, they are fantastic pants on you!

    1. I think it's more of just getting used to wearing this style - it's very different for me and feels very casual. Thanks, Mica!

  5. Pretty top. I also like mixing my new purchases with old items in my closet. My wardrobe collection is big enough that I can usually find suitable pieces. This combination you put together is nice.

  6. You're so good at taking time to make up new outfits - I really need to follow your example. I did in fact spend half an hour last evening trying clothes on in an effort to find something a bit different to wear for the exhibition this weekend which was worth it though. Anyway, hurrah for your circle top, it's funky and I love the check trousers too. The floral trench always takes my breath away - I totally adore it!

    1. I always regret when I don't do it, because they are usually my best outfits - it's always worth it! Thank you, my ears! I love that coat.

    2. Weird typo - that should say "dear" not "ears"!

  7. Me too ! I can get lost in my closet but I have to be in the mood. I like to be alone and just mix, match, try things on... and put outfits together down to the accessories.
I love the red on one end and the satin blue on the other.
