Chartreuse and Checkers

I'm home late following a company event - I planned a fun outfit as I knew I'd be seeing most of my coworkers there.
They ran the event as a game-show, and I was thrilled to be the answer to one of the trivia questions.

  • Blouse - Miu Miu, thrifted; first worn here in October 2018 with copper
  • Skirt - Banana Republic, consignment; purchased here for $28.00
  • Shoes - Eject; last worn here at the end of September 2018
  • Coat (below) - Auckie Sanft, vintage 50s, vintage fair; last seen here a couple of weeks ago

The question was "Who do you need to invite to all meetings with guests?" Everyone shouted "SHEILA!" Hilarious! As I am the office front desk, I have to sign in all guests - I have trained everyone to add me to their meeting invitations. I've trained them well, apparently!

Anyway, outfit stuff! Loved wearing this silk top again - it's real Miu Miu!
I did spill something on the front of it at the event, so I'll be carefully handwashing it, but I'm not too worried about it. It's good quality.

I loved this skirt - it was very comfy to wear all day, although it did bag out a bit after my long day.
It reminds me of a checkered picnic cloth.

Still not Friday?
Aw! At least I got lunch out - my coworker and I were treated by our bosses for Administrative Professionals' Day. I ate an entire pizza!

Outerwear - sneaking in a wearing of the Fuzzy Flamingo. I knew I'd have to wear my chartreuse and pink amoeba scarf with her.
So much chartreuse! It's one of my favourite colours, especially with pink.

  • Scarf - Smoking Lily, thrifted

I was buttoned up walking to and from work.
And I have my wee "S" pin on - I've been wearing it almost every day.

The stuff:
Your eyes deceive you: these are 1" heels, and are very comfortable.

Black and white bling:
I loved how the cuff went with the skirt, even though the skirt is actually navy and white.

  • Cuff - vintage fair
  • Earrings - vintage fair

  4. What an interesting colour mix. I'd never have thought they'd go together but look you're the living proof! Love the Pink flamingo coat and the shoes are amazing. Who can resist a checked skirt? Not me. The Miu Miu top is very feminine and floaty such a good contrast with the bold checked skirt.

It's almost the weekend, Sheila, just hang on in there...

  9. Black- white- chartreuse—- check!! I love this outfit and the pink is a beautiful accent color. I love the texture of that tony blouse. I am sure it will launder well.
The flamingo coat always makes me smile. The strappy sandals are such fun. I wish more designers would add that platform so it wouldn’t be so hard for us women to walk !
Miu Miu is only two blocks from where I live, fun to photograph the windows!
    Happy weekend,
    ❤️❤️

    1. I hope it washes well - I'm always careful with silk, though. I know, more platforms for height, please! Oh, I would be in Miu Miu all the time if I lived near there!

  10. How nice you got lunch - my workplace doesn't acknowledge "Administrative professionals day", although when I worked for the government, and it was still "Secretary's Day", my boss got me some carnations that were dyed blue, which she thought I'd like because they were "different" (they were hideous).

The chartreuse top and shoes are totally fab with the black and white checks. I think you could almost do any solid colour with that skirt, but this was an inspired pairing.

    1. I like unexpected colours! You know me. I think that may be the last wear of the Fuzzy Flamingo for this season!
