Teddy Sweater and the Pirate Skirt

As I have a whack of outfits waiting in the wings to be worn, I have to plan them around the weather. Today it was chilly and rainy in the morning, so there was my chance to wear the teddy bear sweater.
You know those blankets you can buy for $50 at Chapters at Christmas, when you spend a certain amount? This top feels like those. So soft!

  • Top - H&M, consignment; purchased here for $15.00
  • Skirt - Dries Van Noten, thrifted; last seen here (5th outfit) on the first day in the new office in February
  • Shoes - Chie Mihara; last worn here in March with the best blue dress
  • Coat (below) - Samuel Dong, thrifted; last seen here in March

I felt like I was wrapped in a fuzzy blanket all day. Several people petted me.
I belted the top, because it's so chunky and thick - I felt like I needed some definition there.

Every teddy bear needs a pirate skirt, yar.
Ahoy! 'Tis a black skirt with a sash.

Outerwear - by the time I walked home, it was sunny and warm. I carried the coat home in my bag.
I kept the hat on, though!

  • Hat - Edward Mann, vintage, thrifted

The stuff:
Much love for these fabulous shoes. They're probably my most comfortable high(ish) heel.

Favourite bling:
The belt is one of my treasures.

  • Belt - Pringle of Scotland, vintage fair
  • Bracelet - Lia Sophia, thrifted
  • Earrings - Reiss, vintage 60s, vintage fair
  • Amber ring - c. 1996

  4. I love your outfit. A simple outfit made up of basics with a twist. Your top looks so comfy and cozy. I'm sure your kitty loves it.

I have to let you know that I saw a pair of your beloved yellow Fluevogs last week while thrifting. The distinctive heel caught my eye and I thought "Those are Sheila's shoes," when I saw them. They were too bright for my taste, but I'm sure they will find a good home with someone who will love them as much as you do.

    1. Thanks so much, Sandra! I keep Vizzini away from my clothes - he likes to chew/drool on things.

Oh, how cool! I adore my yellow Shoes - I know exactly which ones you mean.

  8. What a good move to add that belt for definition. The skirt is very unusual too - makes for a unique combo!

  9. I bet everyone wanted to snuggle you in that cozy top! I thought it would look bulky as well, but the belt makes all the difference.

    1. Vizzini did! Yes, I'm not usually a fan of overly bulky items, so belting worked really well.
