Uber-Floofy and Red Suede

One more day to the weekend, and I'm starting to feel more upbeat. It's been a rough few weeks, I tell ya.
Today, a massive supplies order came in and I spent the day unpacking microwave ovens, toasters and office supplies. And I did it in style...

  • Suede jacket - Holt Renfrew, thrifted; purchased here for $64.95
  • Sweater - Tatyana, thrifted; last seen here on Christmas Day 2017 with my Muppet skirt
  • Skirt - All Saints, pass-along from Dominique; first worn here in October 2017 with fabulous boots
  • Boots - BCBG Max Azria; last seen here (3rd outfit) in January with ORANGE LEATHER SHORTS (sorry, they insist on being capitalized)
  • Sleeveles coat (below) - Only, thrifted; last worn here in November 2017

This outfit ticks off a few boxes for me: a new-to-me item, the red suede jacket. Pretty gorgeous, right?
It also has an item that is quirky and that I love: this pouf-tastic skirt that my awesome coworker Dominique gave me. Although it got quite squished in my closet and was a bit wrinkly (hee, like me) and could have used another steaming to re-pouf it. Eh, whatever.

The jacket is slightly big on me, but with the amount of moving around and physicality at work today, I found it much more comfortable. It will soften up and conform more to my body shape the more I wear it (reason #9 why I love leather and suede).
This is also probably the last wearing of these OTK boots. But I might keep them out, as they are good "shoulder" season boots. I always keep a few pairs of boots out for spring/summer.

Showing off the pockets in the skirt.
I really liked how this outfit showcased my necklace - a nice bonus.

Outerwear - it was lovely by the end of the day, and I didn't wear either the scarf or the gloves.
I did have my cream fedora on from yesterday - I remembered to bring it home from work. Go, me! It's the little victories!

  • Scarf - Louis ("Lewis") Vuitton (fake), thrifted
  • Leather gloves - thrifted

Alternate "I'm looking at my hat collection" pose.
This sleeveless coat is great for this kind of weather - not too hot, but can be worn open as well as tied closed.

The stuff:
Knowing that my supplies would come in today, I chose flats for comfort.

Spiky bling:
I love this necklace. L, you have such good taste.

  • Necklace - Robert Larin, gift from L (antique shop)
  • Earrings - Glee
  • Hematite rings - thrifted
  • Crystal ring - Uffizi Gallery gift shop, Florence, Italy

I'll be back on Sunday with tales of mild adventure, naps and cat pictures. It's gonna be that kind of weekend. Have a good one, my friends!

  5. The All saints skirt is positively swoony! If this is how you dress to unpack boxes, I can’t even imagine you at fancy gala. Actually I can imagine you at the fancy gala, and have seen glorious pictures to that effect .
I’m glad you are starting to feel more like yourself! Thinking about you as always.
