Sparkle Pants with Burgundy and Dove-Grey

A terribly creative title of today's post, but it's late, and I'm tired and I haven't eaten yet.
I loved today's outfit and got very positive reactions to it from my coworkers.

  • Blazer - Emporio Armani, thrifted; first worn here in October with paisley pants
  • Silk ruffle blouse - no label, consignment; first worn here (with this same blazer)
  • Culottes - Michal Negrin, thrifted; purchased here for $29.95
  • Booties - Mia, consignment; first worn here in October with my 90s tube dress
  • Coat (below) - Apparence, vintage, thrifted; last seen here on Monday

Here's with just the blouse (too cold for this!), so you can see the sparkly pants. I've decided they are culottes.
I showed off the sparkly Swarovski crystals to everyone. Sparkly pants!

With the blazer. This is how I wore it all day at work.
I wore full tights under the pants, which ended up being a good call - they help keep the leg-line long and blend with the black edges of the fade in the pants.

Rear view.
It's a gorgeous blazer. I love this pale dove-grey colour.

Done up - I only buttoned it for putting on my coat.
I prefer being able to see the sparkly buttons at the front.

The Unsafe Polar Bear returns! You'll be thoroughly sick of both Unsafe coats by the end of winter.
The coat has a very deep V front, so I was glad of the giant silk/wool scarf under it. Brrr, baby, it's cold outside!

  • Scarf - Story of Shanghai, thrifted
  • Gloves - Parkhurst

The stuff:
These aren't really all day booties - my feet are pretty sore now after working all day, then doing my WW meeting - but they are fiiine-lookin'!

Gold and black bling:
That necklace is one of my grandmother's - I "rediscovered" it digging around in my jewelry last night.

  • Necklace - Anne Klein, vintage 80s, Grandma J's
  • Hematite earrings - gift from Mom
  • Bronze ring - P. Sarpaneva, vintage 70s, vintage fair
  • Hematite ring - thrifted

I'll be back on Sunday with a Bigass Weekend Wrap-Up (TM) - see you then! Have a wonderful weekend, my friends!

  2. This outfit shows off your new culottes so well - they look great on you and I like the burgundy top and shoes with them! Even if the shoes weren't the most comfortable in the end for your long day!

  6. Fantastic colour combo - I'm not usually a fan of grey but the burgundy elevates it to a cool and classy level. Those trousers are a fantastic fit, you can tell they're a posh label.
Have a wonderful weekend, Sheila! xxx

  7. Those sparkly culottes (yes, they're definitely culottes in my book as well!) look fantastic on you, and I love how you combined them with the burgundy ruffle blouse. Those booties are really something else, although I can see they have the "ouch" factor. The things we put our feet through for a fab pair of shoes! Have a great weekend! xxx
