Autumn Cream and Pink

Ooh, I'm so excited to be into October - this is my favourite month! We've been lucky with sun and clear skies for a few days, so I was inspired to do a "summery" fall outfit today.
It features two new-to-me items that I've been saving: the lacy top and the wool skirt. Who is that klassy lady? It's me! It's me! Again, another outfit that made me really happy.

  • Jacket - Brooks Brothers, thrifted; first worn here in July with the trout shoes
  • Top - Express, thrifted; purchased here in early September for FREE (it was marked $12.95 and was the 2nd "one" in a "buy one, get one" deal)
  • Skirt - J. Crew, thrifted; purchased here in July for $19.95
  • Shoes - Elegant Conversations Kendra, Fluevog; last seen here in June with lingonberry and pink

The lace top is bracelet-sleeve length - glimpses as I shoved my sleeves up all day - and I wore a burgundy cami underneath it for coverage and to show off the symmetrical pattern of the lace.
I loved wearing this gorgeous blazer again, this time worn undone all day, and done up when I walked outside (to/from the other office; to/from home/work). It's a wool/silk/linen blend, and only partially lined, but it feels autumnal to me.

I did a loose knot with the ties in the back when I had it open.
Oh, let's talk about how nice my bum looks in this skirt! Dang, nothing beats a well-cut pencil skirt. On a sunny day, all this light colour felt wonderful.

This was a dream to wear, but I was worried all day about getting pen, coffee or other dirt on it.
However, it's Just a Thing and I'll wear it and love it until I don't.

The stuff:
I don't do boring neutral shoes. Although I did wear these once in the spring, these really ring my bell for fall. That's a very comfy heel height, but I only wore them indoors - not walking outside.

New copper bling:
I really liked how the copper went with the pink of the blazer - it was this nice warm mix. Copper is lovely to wear - it warms to your skin. I had to adjust the earring a bit so that they didn't pinch my ears too hard.

  • Copper necklace and earrings - Matisse, vintage early 60s, vintage fair, first wear
  • Crystal ring - Uffizi Gallery gift shop
  • Amber ring - c. 1989

I will be back on Thursday with a two-fer! My company has its big annual "how did we do?" meeting/dinner tomorrow night - I have fabulous outfits planned for both days!

  8. This is a very subdued, "Classy Lady", look for you. You're right, you can't beat a nice-fitting pencil skirt for making your butt look great. I need to find one of those :)
