Bits of Sun, Plus Spanish Ladies and Girl Gang Stuff

Ugh, it is 29 degrees right now, there is no wind, and the air is hazy from the smoke coming down south from the interior. I'm reminded why I like spring and fall better than winter and summer. I don't like extremes!

Unless we are talking about clothes. Then, I am all over brights and wild prints.
First wearing of my yellow ballet flats! I'm so happy I got them - there was no way I was pushing my foot into a heel today.

  • Dress - Lirub; last worn here (2nd outfit) in May to the Ulti field
  • Shoes - Karl Lagerfeld; purchased here on the weekend for $41.40
  • Cardigan (below) - Gap, thrifted; last seen here in July with a flirty sundress

I wore a blue cami under the dress to fill in the armholes and the cleavage area. I love this dress - it's lasted over 7 years in my wardrobe.
In my air-conditioned office building, I actually ended up getting chilled in the afternoon, and had to put my cardi back on!

And there it is, with my hat.
A last-minute, light outfit for a hot day!

The stuff:
These flats were wonderful to wear all day - not a single rub anywhere. Yay!

Primary bling:
It's like all the food groups, only colours.

  • Belt - Liz Claiborne, vintage 80s, thrifted
  • Earrings - Tania Gleave, Vancouver
  • Ring - local

So, I've been feeling mopey lately...and look what Ally of Shybiker sent me in the mail!
I'm a member of her "girl gang," The Vixens! Link here to explain. She sent me this awesome card, and this fabulous tote bag! According to the card we "fight rivals and shop for make-up" - I'm totally in! This bag is my new everyday tote bag for carrying my shoes and lunch to work in.

Thanks, Ally! I love it so much! Hugs!

  2. That is such an awesome tote, what a sweet gift! :)

Hope you survive the heat too - you're managing to do it stylishly! I always find accessories are the things I start to care less about and wear less of in the heat, but you always coordinate well :)

Gah, it's just awful, so HOT. I also skip accessories when the temperatures go up.

    1. Aw, thank you! I've never found anything about the company online, and they had dresses in all kinds of fun retro patterns. They were just a little local company.

  6. Oh, yes, I remember the Spanish ladies dress, which is fabulous. I love how you added the citrussy details. I too get chilled when the airco's on in the office. Cannot leave the house without a cardigan. xxx

    1. I thought you would - it's a long-time favourite for me because the pattern opens it up for so many accent colours.

    1. I know, isn't she sweet? I know you love this dress! I am also shocked that it's been over 7 years! Wow, where does the time go? I was really happy about the shoes - sometimes it's hard to tell if they're going to work out until you actually wear them for a period.

  8. Oh Wow! This dress is absolutely fabulous, Sheila. It says summer and holidays and exotic and I just love it. Such a change of colour from that gorgeous pink (Asian inspired) pencil skirt and your cream which wasn't really a cream outfit - just look at the shoes, the earrings, the hair, the glasses (and the spots on the skirt). Something about it and your sparkle speaks about holidays. xx
