Grey Geometry and Ruffles

Another dentist appointment today, and I'm frozen up to my eyeballs. What I thought would be my last appointment for a while turns out to be the penultimate instead. One more go-round of antimicrobial goop sealed up in my tooth, and then I get it filled and a new back on my existing cap.
And in other news, I'm wearing all grey! I felt pretty grey today (even though this outfit has very shiny elements).

  • Blouse - Jones New York, thrifted; last worn here in June with neoprene
  • Skirt - Nygard; last seen here in December 2016 with that cool white top I have
  • Shoes - Gentle Souls; last worn here in April with cranes and goldenrod

"Na na na...CAT BOMB!"
The shiny blouse was layered over a mustard yellow cami this time, and I totally nervous-sweated through the blouse, so it's in the wash.

I'm going to go have a nap when I'm done blogging, but first, lots of ibuprofen and extra-strength Tylenol.
"And a warm cat to cuddle with!"
I love this skirt - it's a piece I bought new at the Bay way back in my early blogging days. It's stood the test of time, mostly because of all the colours in the pattern (white, gold/yellow, blue/navy on a grey background) and because the pattern goes all the way around the skirt! I always rail about this - I loathe when the back of any garment is just left black or blah. We can be seen from all sides! Designers, decorate us accordingly, pleas!

Outerwear, aka hat. I walked home from the dentist.
Not in these shoes, of course. I switched to my runners.

The stuff:
These really are a heavenly pair of shoes - they are incredibly comfy, but look dangerously high (they really aren't).

Simple bling:
My balls and chain. Heh.

  • Ear-balls - Dior
  • Chain - thrifted

  1. So sorry you have had to go through all this dental crap. Hopefully it's all done soon! I really like that skirt too, and agree with you completely about the pattern going all around the skirt instead of just the front. Maybe they think no one looks at people as they are walking away?

    1. Thanks, I appreciate that. One more appointment, I hope! It boggles me that clothing isn't viewed/designed to be 360 degrees!

  4. You poor thing. I hope you feel better now. I love the oufit. Must have been the dentist which made you feel grey, as the outfit is stellar. Your shoes are the best (OK after the skirt). I find that shoes can make or break an outfit and these really make it.

I agree, shoes can really make or break it!

  5. I know how much you dread going to the dentist.... on the bright side you looked marvellous and that skirt and shirt look like they were made for each other. Now your hair is what actually adds life and colour here and I love it!!

  6. Late comment. OMG, one of my most favorite outfits on you. Perfection with every detail. Love how your hair is styled and it mimics the ruffles. Great colors to accentuate your hair.

  7. Grey doesn't look so grey in your expert hands Sheila. Mustard, patterns and not any old grey shoes all go to make a fab ensemble.

You have all my sympathies re the dental work. I'm about to embark on an overhaul of my teeth after years of trying to find out what's wrong. I'm going private and have a lovely Irish dentist who promises to be gentle with me. My first (two hour) appointment will be in September so you'll hear about it no doubt!

    1. I am feeling grey lately, a bit of a sea change in my style overall, heading to more neutrals. Ugh, good luck with your dental work, Anna! Mine should be done this week, fingers crossed.
