Wearing Some Animals

Another busy day. I got half of the Christmas decorations up, only to discover that my only outlet for the tree was dead. So now I have to wait till tomorrow to do the tree. Wow, First World problems, eh?
As it's the US Thanksgiving in a couple of days, I'm thankful to have a job where I get to put up decorations and get paid for it.

  • Blouse - Planet, consignment; last worn here in February under purple suede
  • Dress - Truly by Part Two; last seen here in December 2015 underneath a sweater
  • Shoes - Poetic Licence; last worn here in December 2015 (also while trying to decorate the office tree!)
  • Leather trenchcoat (below) - vintage 70s, thrifted

This blouse and dress are "old" items in my closet. Both are over 5 years old, probably closer to 6 years.

I wore a lot of animals today:

  • The leather dress
  • The leopard blouse
  • Pony hair belt (with lion buckle)
  • Bird necklace
Outerwear:

Rabbit fur toque and scarf (Danier Leather) and leather gloves. Not to mention the leather coat. I was warm, though!

The stuff:
These shoes look a bit orange, but trust me, they are a nice mustard yellow. I matched my yellow cami (under the blouse) to them, as well as my ear-balls.

Animal bling:
Swallows and the lion belt buckle.

  • Belt - Pringle of Scotland, vintage fair
  • Necklace - gift from Mom
  • Ear-balls - Dior
  • Ring - late 90s

  1. Sheila, you are the Queen Of Fabulous Coats!! I have been catching up on the last six or so posts and your coats are wonderful. I don't have the need for coats here but yours get me thinking of snow and rugging up... Maybe not in the cobalt suede jacket but what a stunner it is, and your svelte self looking fabulous in jeans. Purple shiny shoes... wow! xx

    1. Aw, thank you, Elizabeth! We don't get too cold here, so I need a variety of weights and looks (of course I do).

  3. I like the brown and mustard together! :) I'm going to need to wear that - I have a brown tank and a mustard bag that would be perfect! :)

Hopefully things are better tomorrow and you finish the decorations like you've been wanting to.

  5. Love all of the mix of fabrics and prints Sheila. The shoes are by far my favourite item today - they've reminded me that I have some similar, so must go find them now. Hope yours get to have another outing before it's time to decorate the tree again next year!
    Have a good week x

    1. Thanks, Anna! Dig those nearly-forgotten shoes out! Yes, I must make an effort to wear these again before they get packed away for spring - I can do it!

  6. Love the layering you've created with that lux leather dress.
Oh I began taking out all of my Christmas home decor out. The dining room is full of boxes; I need to declutter before I can put anything up.

  7. I would not have known this was a leather dress until you said! I like the way you've styled with a blouse underneath and as for the shoes - they are FABULOUS! I hope your Thanksgiving goes with a bang!
