Prickly in Lame, and Some More Pics from the Party

Aw, jeez, it's so hard to go back to work after a few days off. I was mentally prickly today.
All this shiny lame (lah-MAY, darlings!) didn't help. I forgot to wear a slip underneath it all, and my skin was itchy all day.

  • Cardigan - Jacob, thrifted; last worn here in October for some of my tattoo work
  • Lurex top - no label, thrifted; last seen here (3rd outfit) in October for brunch
  • Skirt - Club Monaco, consignment; last worn here in October 2015 with a lot of mustard
  • Loafers - Sperry, thrifted; purchased here on the weekend for $22.95
  • Coat (below) - BCBG Max Azria, thrifted; purchased here on the weekend for $42.95

Being a Monday, and the first day back, comfy shoes were in order. And yes, we need a shiny skirt - it's shiny clothes season! I'm shocked that I only wore this skirt once last year!
Ann Taylor, your tights suck. These were quite baggy in the ankles, although they stayed up in the crotchal region reasonably well.

New outerwear!
I have my furry Danier toque and scarf on, plus my consignment Club Monaco elbow-length leather gloves.

Allow me to show you the back:
Isn't it a cool piece?

The stuff:
OMG, I am in lurve with these shoes. They were so incredibly comfy to wear all day. Not a single rub, pinch or owie!

Excessive bling:
Nothing exceeds like excess, I say.

  • Necklace - consignment
  • Cuff - Jezebel Charms, gift from L
  • Floral ring - Sarah Coventry, antique shop
  • Amber ring - late 90s
  • Bronze ring - P. Sarpaneva, vintage 70s, vintage fair
  • Ear-balls - Dior

The link from the photobooth at my company Christmas party on the weekend went out today, so I snagged the pictures I was in.

Some of my work-friends.
Me, David, Naomi and Nicole.

And this is my favourite one of L and I.
A couple of badass mofos, don't you think? Hee!

  1. Yeah, that lah-MAY is prickly stuff but it looks sooo good. I'm glad you get to wear all your great clothes to the office. And the office party pics came out so well. I love the last one of you and L. He does a winning stupefaction pose - I am studying it right now! And your ink is damned impressive! I shall call you Rosie.

  4. OK. This is by far my favorite outfit that you've posted. (I'm just a tad conservative & way less adventurous than you!) That skirt was to die for.

  6. I love the gold/orange/burgundy combo that's going on here. The brown tights and flat shoes finish the whole look off perfectly too. How great to have comfy shoes on all day without a tweak! I'm delighted to see the cream coat already and it really reminds me of a fairy tale, but I can't decide which... Do tell me if you know Sheila x
PS Yes, I loved the party photos, both of them.

    1. Thank you, Anna! Gotta love the flats on a Monday, for sure. I have no idea which fairy tale the jacket reminds you of.

  7. HaHa - great photo of you and L (and your ink!). Lame (Laaaaaamaaaay)is fun to look at but it is scratchy if it's not lined. Pretty skirt though - worth investing in a good slip if you don't already have one.

    1. I hate scratchy, but I can handle mild amounts. I have slips - why did I not wear one??
