Flame On, With Black Accents

This outfit felt very "flame-y", as in colours from fire: yellow, orange and fiesta red.
Gotta ground things with black sometimes, although it was maybe not the best choice in this heat!

  • Jacket - Celia Chien, vintage 60s, thrifted; first worn here in June, where I also flamed on
  • Top - INC, consignment; purchased here for $8.50
  • Skirt - J. Crew, thrifted; purchased here for $14.99
  • Shoes - Ralph Lauren, thrifted; last seen here (2nd outfit) with chartreuse for theatre-going with Mom
I'm taking an extra-long weekend, with tomorrow and Monday off, so today was rather hectic getting all my stuff organized at work. All I ask is that they not burn the building down.

I adore this crazy jacket - and I let my unfinished tattoo peek out of the open "ladder" of the arms, which is not really visible here.
Today was the first wearings of both the black under-top (good, nice and thick, although it showed every crumb of everything I ate) and the skirt. The skirt is a smidge big on me, so not sure how long it will last, but it was amazingly soft and lovely to wear. Again, with boots and tights in the fall? And a big sweater? Yeah, I'm in!
Although the thought of boots, tights and a sweater is enough to make me break out in a massive glow. It's going to be hot this weekend!

The stuff:
Awesome shoes - so comfy - although after my WW meeting, my feet were tired. We had a crazy-busy meeting (7 new people!) of over 50 people, so I ended up working an 11 hour day. Sheila tired...needs wine...

Gold and black bling:
It looks very disco-y.

  • Cuff - Trifari, vintage, thrifted
  • Gold chain - Grandma J's
  • Necklace - EllandEm, thrifted
  • Ear-balls - Dior

I'll be taking the next few days off blogging, but will be back on Monday to regale you with my adventures. Have a lovely weekend!

  1. Really like the colours in this! Shame that the skirt isn't a perfect fit, it looks lovely though and I agree with more layers when it's cooler it might fit better :)

    Enjoy your extra long weekend!

    1. Thanks, Mica! The skirt is "good enough for now" - I didn't pay retail, so I don't really care if things are a little off for sizing.

  2. Gorgeous She . I love that last picture of you posing. All the colors go perfectly together and the silhouette of this outfit looks like its off the runway.

  3. Hello Sheila, what a lot a I have to catch up on! My summer shows are over so let life continue at a more steady pace. This jacket is a great shape, so flattering and surely cool and airy with those fabulous sleeves. I seem to read of you always having trouble with your skirts being a bit big/loose - are you still losing weight? Have a lovely long weekend x

    1. I could see you in this jacket, Anna! No, not losing weight, just playing around with sizes (you know how when you thrift, you have to take what you can get). Thank you!

  4. I love this look, and especially the jacket! So cool.
Have a great trip, looking forward to read you Monday!
I'm currently browsing the Fluevog (did I spell that right?) site for shoes. I don't have a store near me, so I'm going to do my best on the size. Looks like they have some worthy sales going on now.

  6. What a sensational 1960s jacket. I live for the colour mustard yellow and would have been drawn to that like - perhaps fittingly given the title of this post - a month to a flame. :)

    Absolutely beautiful ensemble, my friend.

    Joyful weekend wishes,
    ♥ Jessica

    1. I imagine that this jacket once had a matching dress, Jessica - wouldn't you just swoon over that?? Thank you!

  7. Ooooh, the jacket. But your other pieces hold their own in this flaming outfit! Yesh. Clearly superpowers were needed for a frigging 11-hour day. Gaaa!!! Yes, and wine. And L. And Vizzini.
