All the Girly: Florals, Wings and Bows

Well. I am home late, and I *may* have had many glasses of wine. I am not telling.
It was my company's quarterly meeting, and the booze flows freely. I dress for such occasions, with all my brights. Since I man the front table, it's essential that everyone be able to spot me.

  • Top - Alfani, thrifted; first worn here in June with Shoes My Husband Hates
  • Skirt - J. Crew, thrifted; last seen here in September 2015 while likin' lilacs and velvet
  • Shoes - Franco Sarto, consignment; last worn here (3rd outfit) a couple of weeks ago with white and pastels

"I only look at you when I want something."
Like I'm easy to miss! I haven't worn this skirt this half-year, but that doesn't mean I don't love it. I'm at that point in my 6-month wardrobe when I start looking for backward hangers aka things I haven't worn yet, and start putting together outfits from them. I currently have 8 outfits ready to go in the closet. Look at me, all organized and such!
"Right now, you should let me into the hallway."
I waved my ABBA wings at everyone and was jovial, especially after some wine. But the night is still young! I am now going to hang with L and Vizzini...do I really have to work tomorrow? Naw...but yeah, I do.

The stuff:
Ooh, blurry, that's the best. I wore these shoes for most of the day. BOWS.

Blingy bling:
It's a big necklace. That's so 2012.

  • Earrings - don't remember
  • Necklace - Banana Republic, consignment

Also: like I care.

Who else does not give two cares?
"That would be me. We need to talk."
Vizzini is so cute in the mornings. How do I ever make it to work on time?

I got a little somethin' in the mail today....
Did you know Fluevog has a sale on? I tried these on back here in March and mentioned that these almost made the cut, "maybe if they go on deep clearance". Well, I did it. They were on from $319.00 to $159.99 and I bought them.

They are the Colour Joanne (link here 'cause I love). I have had two bosses in my life named Joanne, and they were both awesome people. Love to the Joannes of the world!
Bad colour - they are more like what's on the website.
I bought these in a 9.5, but I could easily have gone to a 10 (I wish I'd noted the sizes back in March!), as my toes hit the tip. But don't get me wrong - these are comfy. This particular pair doesn't rub like the pair I tried on in Vancouver which is a bonus. I wore these around in the office after they arrived (they came with this pair for L as well, hee hee, to the envy of all the men in my office).

I love the leather soles.
"Bring colour to dark places." I like that. I also like that - as the Colours family - they have the traditional British/Canadian spelling of colour.

What are you doing to bring colour to your lives?

  2. This outfit is fantastic! Love the vintage (-style?) top with the very modern skirt, and all the wonderful matching you have going on.

  3. Oh the ABBA sleeves - fantastic! Love that minty color too. And the soles of your shoes, reminds me a little of the ending of True Detectives Season One: "Sometimes the light wins out." xox

  4. Oh I like how this blouse paired with that printed skirt.. pure perfection.
Right now things are kind of crappy so any color is welcome. I am actually putting great effort into getting dressed. Just getting me out the door these days is a feat.

  5. Such a lovely combination of colours lilac and minty green! Love it. Love that necklace, too. The new shoes are fab - can't wait to see them on.

I've just bought the most colourful bag ever; it's going to be my holiday handbag as I can fold it flat in my suitcase or hand luggage as it won't take up as much
room as the usual leather handbags do. I'll have a picture of it on my blog later this week...

  6. The sleeves of this blouse make it a sensational piece. It must feel so lovely and swishy to wear. Do keep me in mind when/if you ever tire of it Sheila x
