Bigass Weekend Wrap-Up: Two-Way Lace, Shopping in Dots and Floral, Hello Yellow, Magenta Force, Teal and Pinks

Well, I need another weekend. Who do I see about getting this sorted out? It was an exhausting weekend, but now I have another week to get through. *sigh*
All the way back to Friday, to this scuba skirt and lace top.

  • Top - La Vie 89, thrifted; first seen here with a pencil skirt in April
  • Skirt - Milano, thrifted; first worn here in January with the chicken top
  • Heeled sneakers - Ash, consignment; first worn here (2nd outfit) in April with cashmere

An easy Friday outfit for running around and getting things done. That's what I do.
I love this fun little skirt.

The stuff:
These are awesome shoes - I'm glad I got them.

  • Earrings - Vintage fair
  • Fulvia Ring - Wendy Brandes

After a crazy day at work, I rushed home to get ready to go for dinner with my mother- and brother-in-law, down visiting us all weekend from Powell River.
Out of deference to L, I changed shoes. He really hates those black wedges!

  • Top - as above
  • Skirt - Concept XXV, thrifted; purchased here for $6.95
  • Shoes - Prepare Guide, Fluevog; last seen here for Star Wars day last week

We walked down to the local pub for dinner, then hung out at home catching up for the evening.
I love this wonderful bias-cut skirt - such great flow and swoosh!

The stuff:
L also hates these shoes, heh.

  • Earrings - Caracol
  • Fulvia Ring - Wendy Brandes

We met up with Louise and V for brunch on Saturday morning (no Ulty), followed by L and his brother going shopping and me and Louise going shopping.
It's been sunny, windy, warm and cold, so I wore layers

  • Jacket - Lord & Taylor, thrifted; purchased here for $27.95
  • Top - Club Monaco, thrifted; last seen here with Mom jeans in April
  • Trousers - Tara Jarmon, consignment; last seen here in September 2015 with pattern
  • Shoes - Down to Earth Hadfield, Fluevog; last worn here a week ago with leather and lace

This was a really fun outfit to wear - I had a lot of positive reaction from salespeople in the stores we popped into.

But first, some cat-grabbin'.
"I protest the lack of pictures of me in this post."
Vizzini wasn't very happy that we weren't around all weekend.

This coat/jacket was amazing to wear. What a fabulous piece!
It's even got pockets.
I'm so casual.

The stuff:
These shoes held up well for 6+ hours of shopping, but by the end of the day, I just wanted a foot rub.

Coordinated bling:
My roots are atrocious - I'd planned to dye this weekend, before I knew the rellies were coming - so I scarfed and pretended I didn't have roots at all. I'm sure it worked, heh.

  • Scarf - Ralph Lauren, consignment
  • Cuff - gift from Karen
  • Crystal ring - Uffizi Gallery gift shop
  • Spinner ring - Twang & Pearl
  • Earballs - Dior

My mother-in-law likes to repay me for taking her shopping by buying me whatever I want. I'm very fussy, though - I don't usually see much for myself when I'm shopping for her. However, this lovely 80s skirt caught my eye at the St. Vincent de Paul.
I do believe I've found a replacement for the skirt I cut a hole in!

Look how swooshy!
I'm probably going to cut out a large amount of the full-length black lining.

Gold dots!
It's by Orenzo, probably made in Italy.

And only $4.00!
Gotta like that.

One of our stops was She She Shoes, where Louise insisted on buying us both tights.
I picked burgundy with gold detail down the front (or back, depending on how you wear them).

I also fell in love, and Louise insisted on buying me something Star Wars!
Ooh! Ooh! Ooh! Star Wars shoes!

I'm even in love with the packaging.
It's like a Day of the Dead C-3PO and Darth Vader. And yes, they were $219.95. Jaw drop.

Of course, they are by Irregular Choice. I've never owned a pair of these before (but I've been in their Carnaby Street store in London).
Princess Leia! Han Solo (when he's all young and cute still, hee hee)! And little red hearts, and embroidered pansies!

Star Wars!
It's official.
I love the iridescent black glitter heel with the pearlized gold caps.

I took pictures of the bottoms right away, because, well, shoes are meant to be worn, and these won't last.
These were sized really small - I barely fit into the 10/41.

After shopping, I had to nap. Exhausted. Get up, wash my face, get dressed for another dinner!
A dress is easy. A yellow dress is even better.

  • Dress - Calvin Klein, consignment; last seen here (with cartoon birds!) in September 2015
  • Shoes - Big Presence Desmond, Fluevog; last worn here a week ago with pink and yellow
  • Jacket (below) - Le Chateau, consignment; last seen here (2nd outfit) as outerwear in November 2015

Someone is hamming it up in the background!
My photobomber is usually of the feline variety.

I love this pretty swooshy dress. I actually wore the ribbon sash that came with it.
And why not go with yellow shoes?

A jacket for the chill of the evening.
I felt like a star!

The stuff:
Lovely yellow shoes. Good thing I didn't walk much.

Bright and early Sunday morning, we met the outlaws for breakfast before they left town.
I had to wear the shoes, right?

  • Blouse - Tabi, consignment; last worn here (2nd outfit) in April with lilac leather
  • Pants - Ralph Lauren, consignment; last seen here for Star Wars Day
  • Shoes - Irregular Choice; gift from my mother-in-law!
  • Jacket - Lord & Taylor, thrifted; last worn the day before for shopping

Breakfast, then grocery shopping, then a quick nap and then L and I went to see "Captain America: Civil War" (good, enjoyable).
Lest you think I am a bad daughter, my mom had plans with my brother and also with my ex-sister-in-law. We're taking her out for dinner later this week for her birthday.

Same jacket.
Do I look tired? I am tired.

The stuff:
This first wear was a good test (not too much walking, just enough to see where they rub) - I did get a little blister on one toe, so I think I can do these for a full day at work.

Space bling:
Oh man, I love these shoes!

  • Earrings - gift from Lise
  • Lapis lazuli ring/Fulvia Ring - Wendy Brandes
  • Belt - thrifted (forgot to take it off)

L and I crashed last night - I knew I'd be exhausted, so saved my blogging for tonight instead (and now I'm hungry!). Here we go.
I love this blouse - I had a few compliments on the colour mix. The blouse is actually pinstriped teal and purple.

  • Blouse - Ben Sherman, thrifted; purchased and first worn here (4th outfit) in March
  • Skirt - Evan Davies, vintage 80s, thrifted; last seen here in August 2015 with chartreuse lace
  • Shoes - Camper; last worn here last week with pink and stripes

"Usual lurker, reporting for duty."
If you clicked through on the "last worn" of this blouse, you can see how much of it is tucked in to this leather skirt!

I really liked the crisp silhouette of this outfit.
"There aren't enough pictures of me - I'm leaving."
This is a good length skirt too.

The stuff:
These shoes are a smidge too high to be worn again this soon. My feet are sore. Flats tomorrow...maybe.

Purple bling:
Many purples.

  • Belt - Plum
  • Cuff - Catalyst Reaction Leather, thrifted
  • Earrings - Le Chateau

I'm linking up to:

I hope you all had a fabulous weekend!

  1. I know you... Or I guess L so well. The minute I read that you were switching out the wedge sneakers because L doesn't like them, I said to myself "but he doesn't like those either!" I gave myself a high five when I read I was right.

  2. Sheila, your red and white combo is fabulous (love that jacket, and the polka-dot pants!), and I chuckle over your idea of "deference" to L, which involves substituting one hated pair of shoes for another … but those astonishing SW flats aside, I admit it's the yellow dress that I find most swoon-worthy! (I'm sure it isn't because it's accompanied by Fluevogs …)

  3. So many fabulous outfits. If I list everything I like I'll just be repeating your entire post. That's true love that you changed your shoes for L, and true love that you changed into other shoes that he hates. Heh. Love his photo-bombing, by the way. Oh, the Star Wars shoes, though, deserve an extra special mention. Hahaha! They're great!

  6. Your brunch outfit is so frickin' cute!!! Love the yellow swishy dress too, and the fab teal and hot pink combo. Irregular Choice makes the coolest shoes - I follow them on FB and they have some wacky (in a good way) stuff. Star Wars shoes are waay cool. So, do you wear a 41 in shoes? If so, I may have a pair you would like that I can't wear anymore...

    1. I don't usually wear a 41 - I usually wear a 40 or a large 39 (or a size 9 or 9.5). Send me a picture!

  8. Wow! Some wonderful outfits, Sheila. Lots of swooshy skirts - tick! Fabulous white long length jacket - is it related to the short white jacket at all? Both gorgeous. Amazing yellow dress and shoes. Great skirt and shirt combo and the white jacket went so well with the magenta trousers. And Star Wars shoes, too. A very successful weekend I should say.

    Hope your week is good

I think the one which spoke loudest to me was that red and white polka dot pant ensemble. The coat is like a dream. A dream of a dream. A bed of roses. With pockets!!! Sigh.

  13. Too much, too much, far too much to remember. But all of it bloomin' amazing! You look totally like a film star in that yellow dress and yes, why not yellow shoes too? I love the long white jacket - it's really unusual, and something I would love to have in my closet...And those Star War shoes, what a hoot! This is one of my favourite posts so far, especially with L in the background showing of his rather dandy footwear x
