Two-Fer: Thursday Mod(ern) and Rock Princess Friday

I tend to start my weekend as of the wrap-up of my Wednesday WW meetings - once that's out of the way, it's time for a glass of wine.
Hence me missing posting last night.

  • Dress - Zara, consignment; purchased here on the weekend for $18.98
  • Shoes - Effortless Vivian, Fluevog; last worn here a week ago with baby blue

L and I went out for dinner after my meeting, then strolled home in the sun. By the time I got home, I was all, "Nah, I don't want to post."

I felt very mod in this collared and cuffed dress, especially with the shoes. It's like they were meant to be.
I loved wearing this dress all day - it was just right. Not too clingy (it was a bit staticky), and I managed not to expose my hoo-hah to the world. I'm wearing nylons in these pictures - don't my legs look nice? It's been ages since I've worn "real" nylons and it felt a bit weird, but I did really like how smooth my legs look.

The stuff:
I had very few comments on the dress, but everyone cooed over my shoes. Well, yeah. They're pretty much awesome.

Multi-coloured bling:
Must wear all the colours!

  • Necklace - Banana Republic, consignment
  • Earrings - Stella & Dot, consignment
  • Fulvia Ring - Wendy Brandes

Today, I channeled my inner Rock Princess.
Cashmere, faux leather, lace tights, and chunky heeled sneakers. Oh yeah!

  • Sweater - Lord & Taylor, consignment; last seen here with a few colours
  • Skirt - Tribal, consignment; purchased here for $10.50
  • Shoes - Ash, consignment; also purchased here for $19.98

A little bit of badassery goes a long way. Yay for the skirt (and the zipper didn't even snag on the tights!), which was lovely and comfy to wear.
No saggy bum!

The stuff:
And hooray for the wedge sneakers! I may be late to this party, but I've crashed in tipsy, messy and with elan. I walked home from town in these and they were fabulous.

Princess bling:
This is the first wear of this new-to-me necklace, purchased for $8.00.

  • Necklace - thrifted
  • Earrings - don't remember
  • Lapis lazuli ring - Wendy Brandes

It's going to be a fairly quiet weekend, but I do have an exciting "crafternoon" lined up with favourite gals on Sunday, so stay tuned for crafting shenanigans! Have a wonderful weekend!

  1. Marvellous necklaces, Sheila, especially the 2nd one! You have the maddest thrifting skills, girl.
I confess to loving sheer nude stockings: they DO give a nice smooth look, but they also protect fussy feet from chafing and blistering. Saviours! Yours look all class with that mod ensemble (and of course, more Fluevogs ... sigh).

    1. You're so right about the stockings/nylons, Sherry. It's been years, but I loved wearing them again.

  2. Is it because you pointed out the nylons or would I have noticed anyway? Your legs do look very sleek though. These blue Fluevogs take some beating in my book - I swear you could wear them with any colour combination and they'd look perfect.

  5. Oh yeeeeah, love the groove vibe on that first dress. I feel the music here for sure. And the last one, no saggy butt - you're guaranteed to get a vote for that alone. It's so hard for me to dodge that one. Love how you blinged it up. Have a great crafty time - or maybe you already had it. Oh.

  10. "Must wear all the colours" could pretty much be my mantra, too. There's none that I won't try and one of my favourite things, fashion wise, is coming up with new and harmonious pairings of them.

Love your elegant + punchy red necklace here!

    Big hugs,
    ♥ Jessica
