Got the Blues

Meh. I am meh today. I feel meh. Nothing is bright, everything is grey.
Okay, I spy a little blue and some red. I'll give ya that.

  • Blouse - Max C, thrifted; purchased here on the weekend for $12.95
  • Skirt - Theo Miles, vintage 90s, thrifted; last seen here (2nd outfit) in February for brunch
  • Boots - 1883 Lucchesse, consignment; last worn here (2nd outfit) to the vintage fair last weekend

I was quite happy with the outfit, regardless of my state of mind. Blouse, yes, first wear, nice blouse.

Oh, there I am, showing off my slip again.
This is a half-slip (bottom only) so that I don't flash anyone if the skirt opens up. It was really windy walking home, so I was very glad of it!
The skirt doesn't open up from normal wear, but it's always good to be prepared.

The stuff:
Blue and red. Very contrast-y.

Blue bling:
I liked my new pieces - they worked well with the outfit.

  • Necklace - vintage fair, vintage 60s
  • Bracelet - Coro, vintage 60s, vintage fair
  • Earrings - local
  • Fulvia Ring - Wendy Brandes

I've been running late in the mornings this week. Can't. Get. Motivated. Especially with this guy wanting to play and/or cuddle and/or attack me.
"Go on...rub my tum. I won't bite, I promise!"
Lies. He's very bitey.

And I love the outfit. You look great in a long skirt like that. Slinky!

  3. I like that you still managed to add some colour and thought to your outfit despite feeling 'meh' and I hope you get your motivation and that you're back to feeling like yourself again soon Sheila! :)

  4. I know this mood very well. The surprise is that it occurs less now than it did in the past. I've added activities to my life (e.g., dressing, blogging, m/c-riding) that stimulate enthusiasm and that perks me back up. Hope your favorite fun things lift you up too.

  5. Slips are highly underrated. I can still hear my mother... And I NEVER wear a dress or skirt without a slip. More girls need to pick up the clue phone.

  8. All my cats lie about rubbing their bellies. They look all cute and innocent, then one belly rub and it's FANGS out. Love your blouse and that fab long skirt. Hope your gray feelings are past soon. xox

  9. I think it's cosmic. I've felt the same way this week for no reason, as have many female friends and acquaintances. It's tough to be in tune, man.

Lovely outfit. I especially love the skirt and jewelry.

  10. I hear you, these last lengthy days of winter can really bring that "meh" feeling on.

What a terrific outfit. I just love your vintage thermosest jewelry. So pretty!

I've missed visiting you lately, sweet Shelia, and look forward to continuing to do so now that I finally have a new computer.

    Big hugs,
    ♥ Jessica

  12. Fake it till you make it. I too am trying very hard to fake it. But you still look fabulous and will be a welcome sight for others suffering from meh.

  13. Ugh. The "mehs". Bastards. They always come round this time of year. We are almost there (Spring) Sister ... hang on ... it's just around the corner!
