Liking Lilac Grey, and Pink Inside

I didn't realize it was Pink Shirt Day today until I was walking around town. Why is everyone wearing pink? I wondered.
I wore pink last year (here). I do support anti-bullying - I was bullied badly when I was a kid.

  • Blouse - Mexx, thrifted; purchased here for $14.95
  • Skirt - Talbots, consignment; last worn here in January with black and white
  • Shoes - Aldo, thrifted; purchased here for $8.50

I felt good in this outfit - this is as close as I get to a plain, corporate look.

Edit: My coworker Greg took this picture of me at my desk this morning - thanks, G!
Hands on keyboard, but I always have time for people, especially my favourites.

Patterned top, plain skirt. The interest is in the details: the ginkgo leaf pattern, the fuzzy mohair of the skirt, my black fishnets.
And I am much happier with a skirt that fits me properly.

The stuff:
First wearing of these shoes, and they were a B+. I had a delivery of 21 chairs today at work, so I had a very physical day - by the time I went to the other office, I was ready for my runners again. It'll take a bit of getting used to with this uber-pointy toes, too - I tripped a couple of times on the stairs (always use the handrail, Sheila!).

And there, see? I was pink inside my shoes.

Blimey, it's bling!
Sparkly things.

  • Necklace - Banana Republic, consignment
  • Rings - thrifted
  • Earrings - local

Our cleaner is here, so off to the bedroom to hide with Vizzini. I mean, read my book. I don't hide from the cleaner, heh.

  3. Very smart outfit, Sheila and I love the necklace!

We don't have that day here which is a shame because we need to get the message across that bullying people is wrong and horrible.

    Have a lovely weekend

  4. You at your work station - how cute do you look! And terribly efficient too (is the boss gone now?) your hair is utterly fab in this photo. Anti bullying day is long overdue in this country. Today's favourite are your shoes, pointy, elegant, leg lengthening, but yes treacherous on the stairs - beware!

  5. You might not be into this corporate look very much, but is definitely into you. This looks very good on you. Love the leaves and the necklace, the fit and fabric of the skirt and the pointy shoes. Or perhaps this is just up my alley? Being far more conservative than you?
