Picador Gore Skirt

This skirt is probably the goriest thing I've ever worn to work.
And yes, I mean real gore. the design is a picador stabbing a bull! There's blood!

  • Top - Michael Kors, consignment; last worn here in December 2014 with purple sequins
  • Skirt - handmade, vintage 50s, thrifted; last seen here in March with blue and leather
  • Shoes - Half-Truth Veda, Fluevog; last worn here last month for a day in purple leopard

I swear I've worn this top since December (the hanger is turned the "I wore it" way), but I've searched extensively and can't find it. Huh. I guess it really has been 7 months!

It's not going anywhere though - I love this blouse.
More gore on the back of the skirt!
I may have done a couple of twirls in the office. My skirt waves like an amusement park ride - like the Tilt-a-Whirl!

The stuff:
Black to ground all that colour. I like how small my waist looks with an obi.

Simple bling:
Just a little. It's gotten hot out again, and the sun is finally getting through all the smoke.

  • Belt - consignment
  • Cuff - thrifted
  • Earrings - The Cobbler
  • Lapis lazuli ring - Wendy Brandes

Two weeks Friday till the +40 Blogger Meet-Up! Eee! I'm so excited! I'm also nervous as heck.

  1. Ah, what's a little print gore in the office, eh? I love this skirt. You have some of the best bold-patterned garments in town.

  2. Not a fan of gore, but I pretend it's not there for this fabulous skirt. You do have a small waist, you.

I am writing memos to myself about the meet-up, I'm so excited! (that's what OCD people do, write lots of lists : > )

  3. I've always considered this skirt like art - it's like a painting hanging on your wall… just waiting to be admired.
