Kitty-Bait Outfit

Well, aren't I the classy dame today?
Yeah, not really, but I'm faking it well!

  • Jacket - Ron Leal, thrifted; last seen here nearly a year ago in March 2014 with a red dress
  • Skirt - Chloe, consignment; last worn here in January with all cream, all the time
  • Shoes - Wonders Ayers, Fluevog; last worn here in December 2014 with sequins and weekend hair

Again, looking at everything in the closet verrrry carefully. I haven't worn this jacket in nearly a year! That's atrocious closet management (noting that it was packed away for 6 months). It's nice, it's green, it's wool, it's made in Vancouver, it was thrifted for about $15.00, it's got a cool collar, it's got a cool hem...and yet, do I love it?

I should love everything I own!
Like this skirt. Love the skirt. Swoosh-a-rama in the skirt, with the pockets and the big bum pleat and the freakin' made in France from 100% silk by THAT Chloe, and $11.50 on the clearance rack. It feels amazing to wear.

The stuff:
Much fondness for these shoes. Great height, love the double ankle-strap. Vizzini eyed them hungrily as I flipped the straps about to put them on for the morning photos.

Furry bling:
He was also highly enamoured of the three vintage fur pins I was wearing. He gave the grey one a lick and tried to bite the big mink rose. Bad kitty...but that's what I get for wearing kitty-bait!

  • Belt - Kudo, thrifted
  • Assorted mink fur pins - thrifted
  • Floral ring - Sarah Coventry, antique store
  • Amber ring - junky store in the 90s
  • Leaf earrings - vintage 50s/60s, vintage fair

And now, I'm home from the gym and am making beef stew! So good.

  1. I am trying to be stricter with my wardrobe and ask myself 'do i really love this' when I'm wearing things. Too often I have piecse that are just 'okay' in my wardrobe and they crowd out the things I really love. Doesn't make sense really! Why have 3 'okay' things and 1 I love, why not just keep the one I love?
Although that then puts me in a dilemma of things I love but that don't really work for my current lifestyle....I want to keep them but I know I'll never wear them! What do you do then?

  2. Well you are a grand dame !
and what is it with us always looking into our closets to find if we really love something ?
These days it seems its all I am doing, reconsidering garments. I think it has to do with the fact that I just had all my clothes ironed and there is no space.

  3. I'm not sure it's possible to truly adore every single piece of clothing you own! I have first tier, rescue-from-a-burning-building favourites, and then a second tier of good, solid love-but-not-with-a-passion pieces. That's OK with me, a mix is good, as long as there's nothing in the wardrobe that I dislike or am bored with. And that fab jacket and skirt do look very classy together! xxx

  4. LOL! How funny he always wants to eat your clothes. I'm so lucky Spike's worst habit is wanting to rub against my legs when I'm wearing black pants. He's an orange double-coated furball so it's impossible to wear any black that doesn't immediately get coated in cat hair. I've learned it's now my new fashion accessory.

[He's been such a good cuddle bug, I can hardly fault him. Other than occasionally waking me at 5am, he's the best cat I've had since my Gomez]
