Shades of W(h)ine and a Break

Whew, I made it! Day over. I'm taking tomorrow/Friday off, and Monday is a holiday in BC (Family Day), so I'm going off the grid for a few days.

I'm super tired right now, after an 11-hour day.
Please allow me to wine.

  • Cardigan - Jacob, thrifted; purchased here on the weekend for $13.50
  • Top - Daniel Rainn, swap from Caro; acquired here the weekend before that
  • Skirt - no label, vintage70s, gift from Elaine; last seen here (3rd outfit) in November 2014 with my Leia jacket
  • Boots - Indigo by Clarks; last worn here in January with some equestrian things

I was going to wear a blazer with this, but I knew I'd be running around all day, and frankly, I didn't want to get one of my blazers sweaty. Cardigan it is!

This was a comfy and casual look for me - I liked not having anything terribly constricting, but it's still a slim silhouette.
I do like how the cardigan (burgundy) goes with the polka dot blouse (merlot), and how they both go with the skirt (definitely a pinot noir), and also with the boots (more of a dark single malt scotch, and we won't drink them as fast!).

The stuff:
I did a lot of walking today, including pushing a new microwave oven in a box for 6 blocks on a dolly. I was sweaty and cranky after that.

Insane bling:
"Insane with intervals of horrible sanity" - yup, that about sums it up.
  • Poe cuff - Jezebel Charms, gift from L
  • Earrings - consignment store grab bag

It's lighter in the mornings now, so Officer Vizzini is back on the beat after his winter break.
"I have many suspicious activities to report in our neighbourhood."
I'll be back on Monday! Have an awesome weekend, everyone!

  4. Love how well all these colours work together Sheila! :)

I think of all the blogs that I read, yours is always the one that encourages me the most to try different colour combinations and mix it up a little. I know I have a very boring and bland style, but it is a lot different from where I was a few years ago where I would wear denim every day. It's the little things that make a difference.

Enjoy your well-earned break and a few days off! :)
