Soft-Goth Mod Cowgirl

Happy Monday! I'm kind of all over the place today, both mind-wise (I'm still feeling a little addled from the anaesthetic) and clothes-wise.
Soft Goth = Goth without as much black. Mod = 60s minis! Cowgirl = boots!

I'm doing it all today. It started with the boots (of course), because I had to wear them right away. I loved how they looked with the dress, but needed more coverage. Enter Goth-y white blouse.
The dress is all kinds of fabulous. I bought it on vacation in London 4 years ago (here) and last wore it here in July 2013. Funnily enough, Megan of the Fashionable Bureaucrat has the exact same dress (here, 2nd outfit), purchased in Paris 4 years ago.
I've got my eye on you!
The blouse is my J. Peterman thrift find from a couple of years ago. I last wore it here in April with mad plaid.

The stuff:
No lie, these are amazingly comfortable boots! I walked several blocks on an errand in them - no problem. Then I walked home in them - really, no problems! No rubs, no chafing, no blisters, and I just wore thin socks with them. I am in love. Now, I just need to give them a really good polish with my Woly and buff 'em up nice. I bought these here yesterday for $50, and they retail new for $389.00. Sweet!

Goth-y bling:
Stealth bug on my chest and skeletal cameo at my neck.

Dress (Desigual), blouse (J. Peterman, thrifted), boots (1883 Lucchese, consignment), earrings (Oscar & Libby's), cameo (local), bug pin (Le Chateau), rings (homegrown 80s vintage).

My "totes adorbs" work-friend Lesley gave me these awesome earrings of her aunt's.
So fab! I think they will be awesome with my turban. Now, I just need a party.

Reminder: Shoe Shine is on this Friday!

  5. I was alarmed to read about the anaesthetic...! So last night I scrolled through to find out what was going on. Gaaa. Dentists. I once almost feel asleep in the dentist's chair (without drugs) so I will myself to relax. It doesn't always work. And I ask for a blankie which is a great comfort. Glad you made it through your appointment okay.
You look rocking here, I mean soft-Goth mod cowgirl. Great outfit! Those boots, score.

  8. I am exceedingly jealous of those boots. 1. because cowboy boots look awful on my scrawny legs and 2. I have never put on a pair that didn't make me want to instantly rip them off due to discomfort. I hope you're feeling better now!
