Blue, Bone and an Orange Obi

Whew, just home from the gym and all I want to do is crash on the couch!

Today was another hot one, so here's another dress.
My lovely blue dress, which I last wore back here in April (with blonde hair!) with a cardi over it. I felt good wearing it bare-armed today - after all, I am working my arms at the gym, so I'm liking how they are slightly defined.
As noted last time I wore this dress, it's shorter than I'm used to! I don't mind showing my legs, scars, varicose veins, spider veins, bruises and all. More than my face, my legs are like a map of my life. I had a co-worker today guess I was in my 30s (gawbless 'im!) - haw! I am owning my mid-40s.
Aren't the shoes amazing? They are of course Fluevogs, my Listen Up O'Haras. They are quite high - a good 4" heel - so I don't wear them very often. I haven't actually worn them since the June 2012 capsule (recap here), but I consider them a spring/summer shoe, so they were just unpacked for the season in March. Still, I don't wear them much, but they are pieces of art.

The stuff:
As you can see, the leather of the shoes is totally soft and collapse-y (totally a word). I like that they are a bone white instead of a cream or a glarey true white.

I loved how the orange obi tie-belt looked with this - it's one of Megan Mae's creations, and is made from at least one of Ally's ties! I love having my blogger stuff on.

Bling things:
My galaxy brooch - or is it a Flying Spaghetti Monster? Maybe the ring is.

Dress (Ann Taylor Loft, thrifted), obi belt (MMD), shoes (Listen Up O'Hara, Fluevogs), lapis lazuli ring/Fulvia ring (Wendy Brandes), earrings (Plum), brooch/ring (vintage/thrifted).

Someone found a sweet sun spot for lolling about in:
Aw, such a cutie!

  1. Ooooh that orange belt looks AWESOME with that dress. I am honored to see it paired with those shoes. In another life where I could wear high heels, those would never leave my feet.

You're blessed with one of those ageless looks, Sheila!

  2. Those shoes are so Sexay, with a capital S! I love that obi - the colors are so bright and yummy. Megan called it Creamsicle, didn't she? Fab outfit!

  4. That belt with your hair is simply perfect. Today I'm wearing a new obi belt sent by Megan Mae, can't wait to show it off on the blog.

Your legs are stunning. I'm finding I'm enjoying shorter dresses, when I previously avoided them. After reading Bella's recent post, I decided that we don't get our sexy back when we learn to love our older bodies - we never lost it.

    Love ya,
    Lynne

  5. That's one of my favorite obis ever - love that a tie came from Ally, so you can wear two of your friends all day. Great outfit.

  6. I was going to pull out my MMD obi today, too! Those shoes are works of art. While collapsible leather is good on the feet, it's too bad that they can't be displayed as woks of art by themselves! I'd decorate a room with them!

  9. The orange belt makes this whole thing scream - in a good way! And I like "flying spaghetti monster." Clothes are so much better when they're named.
