Roses Round Two

Only Tuesday...*sigh*

Second outfit for the red/white roses cotton top.
If this outfit feels familiar, that's because the cardi, the skirt and the shoes were all featured in the October 2012 capsule (recap here). Although I didn't combine all three of these items together for an outfit that month (I know! I totally thought I had), I easily could have. I wore the cardi twice, the skirt 5 times, and the shoes twice. I was feeling iffy about the shoes, but I really liked them today.

This top barely missed making it into the October capsule - I like how it is more of a backstage piece in this outfit. I last wore it here on the weekend.

I've realized that I need to wear seasonal items (like the Holy Ship! dress) in their season - it's tricky wearing items that are specifically for summer in the winter. I have a bunch of cold-weather items, including a cashmere sweater, that I'd better get into rotation by the end of the month. I'll be pulling out all my spring/summer clothes then - exciting!
I do adore this skirt.

The necklace:
I like the two-tone leaves.

Cardigan (no label, consignment), top (Le Chateau, consignment), skirt (Precis Petites), shoes (Hilary Radley, thrifted), necklace (thrifted, vintage).

  1. This is a beautiful skirt. Love the tights with it too. Red and olive looks so good together.

  4. Great leaves. Nice colors in the outfit. And, like you, I feel this week isn't going fast enough...

  5. I love that necklace too - I have a similar leaf necklace but the leaves are gold. I like the color in yours. Red and olive are a wonderful combo too, not one I've tried much. I feel like I need to change that!

  6. The colors looks really nice together, and your shoes look so sensible! I love that blouse, but it's too bad it's covered up here. Oh, well, can't please the public every day.

  7. So many amazing outfits lately, Sheila! I've missed being around to comment on them all - the great black suede skirt, your Miz Mooz boots, and the Tiki Skirt with your fabulous hairdo, red flats, and stupendous red leather coat, whoo! The Holy Ship dress was also a favourite, and that's a very good point about in-season dressing. Today I love your leaf shapes.

I voted no on the roses top - it's just okay to me, not sure it has staying power - maybe it's the stark contrast with the white background? Maybe if it did have more roses on front as you mentioned before?
